TNT workers protest over pay cuts
Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 by Geoff Wilding
HUNDREDS of workers at delivery firm TNT staged a protest rally against pay cuts which union leaders claim are crippling the workforce.
About 400 employees at the parcel delivery company marched through Atherstone Town centre on the 28th of September before demonstrating outside the firm’s head-quarters in Long Street.
Claims were made that full-time staff will losemore than £400 a month which could amount to a reduction of around £5,000 a year from their salary.
Union leaders claim the decision was made in January to reduce pay, but after months of negotia-tions the first cuts only came into force last month. Paul Davies, national officer for Unite, claims the company is ex-ploiting the recession for their own gains – at a huge cost to its workers.
He added:
"No workman or woman can afford to lose this much money, it is a massive drop in pay The firm is taking advantage of the current economic climate to justify making pay cuts."

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Maybe TNT are losing business because their DSA mail is being delayed by our strikes.
