Waste of time!

Post by main frame fuse »

Yesterday i got a red card through my door with instruction to wait 20 hours before collecting..........i tried for 3 hours solid to speak to someone from the sorting office but the phone was constantly engaged!
So i waited longer than the 20 hours and caught the bus in to town at the cost of £4.20 i waited 20 mins to be seen then was told my parcel was not there!!!
AND THEN MY FUSE WAS LIT.........THE SMUG TOSSER BEHIND THE COUNTER SAID,"AH WELL YOULL HAVE TO COME BACK TOMORROW!"
So i thanked him for wasing my time and money....now i STILL cannot get through to the sorting office and by the time i get my parcel it will have cost me £8.40!!!!!
Jeez man im brassed off!!!!

You must get your post quite early then, which is unusual at this moment in time. Still, what you have had to put up with seems pretty unacceptable really but just goes to show how many cuts are being made in this once great service.

From what I read the customer did, she tried to ring the sorting office. Like ours, it's always engaged.

Dont worry about it mate my office have a phone but never answer it , my tip is give them the run around ask for it to be re-delivered on a day of your choice and be out when they call then then you can have it re-delivered again it happens all the time to me.

You can go online and either request redelivery to your house or to a local post office where you can pick it up at your leisure for 50p.

But it never seems to be a problem in my office (we all return to the office everyday) and our callers office usually has someone who will answer the call.

Not really very helpful, unless of course it's a strike day ;-)

I really can't stand rude people like you, for example describing the guy behind the counter as a smug tosser  why are you having a go at him, he is not responsible for every parcel that goes out, it down to your postie to being back your parcel, and like it already been mention on here, if you took the time to check the card, instead of flying of the handle, you could of had a redelivery and told the guy behind the counter you describe as a tosser :no no

And please note the number on the card I believe isn't the callers office, think it the main head office number.

Point 1- i did not abuse the man behind the desk.
2-i did not at any point lose my rag with him.
3-he was the one who found the situation funny...i didn't
4-what i say and what i think are two very different things.
FINALLY....
If you are treated in an unfair way then its your right to complain. SIMPLE!

I have an idea... what if you only buy items to be posted to you if you are going to be in when it is due to be delivered? Do you think we enjoy lugging your parcels about for 4 hours because your not in? Our bags are only getting heavier and it is in no way the fault of the person in the callers office that you do not have your parcel. This royal mail worker would have most likely been taking constant abuse on the busy phone and then at the window from customers that have no interest in why we strike then complain constantly at the dire service they now receive. In between all this he/she would be trying to keep the actual delivery office running.

As i have had the pleasure of covering the callers office on the rare occasion the PHG has had time for a break i can only imagine they were trying to make light of the situation as it is unfortunatly not an uncommon thing to happen, however i'm sure if you had been more polite they would have happily went out of their way to help you. As you say though you had to wait in a big queue and the phone was always engaged so i assume it is a big office which is more than likely understaffed.

It is terrible that the package then got lost altogether, you have a right to be annoyed at that but if you had been home in the first place or chose to send it to your local post office to pick up you wouldn't be in this position
