I've said many times before, that we are the architects of our own downfall. People who are capable of being managers just aren't interested and the main reason is because of poor organisation and lack of support from other less able managers.

A temp manager who arrived last week admitted he had only been with RM for three years. For every reasonable manager there are 10 bad ones and that is because they simply aren't up to the task.

manager £3.000 bonus

Post by koffin kev »

i must admitt my earlier post refer to two previous managers who could not lie straight in bed.one blew the budget and every other aspect of a managers job.he was reinstated 6 months later then screwed up all over again.our present manager is great , he is hard but fair shows a caring attitude towards the staff and trys hard to address there problems, he is very approachable but is no mug, inmy experience a weak manager is far worse than a hard one.this one does deserve his bonus and when he goes i will be sorry to lose him.( he even brought the lads on the picket line a coffee out, bless him)

A manager is a manager their job is to make us work and now to axe jobs, make cuts, push people through the disciplinary system whether they like it ornot, it they don't do the job propoerly for Leighton andCrozier they will get sacked at some point. my manager just gets his orders strait from the DSM if he can't think up how to get through a cut himself, its chainof command. Its not a quetsion of if they are capable of administering an office it is whether they can force through cuts etc. Some maynot like it, try to look theother way, etc some will leave if it gets nasty, others will get used to it take the money and get nasty. Sure they don't always like it they want an easy life and for everybody to like them but thos days are over like the union says its make or break time in the post now.

I understand the chain of command but only a few of these dummies are capable of managing. My point is, why should these DUMs be rewarded for the effort we put in. In my office last year, the savings we made were down to involvement from the union members, nothing to do with the DUM. The only thing he did was to sign it off. The only reason the business hits the quality of service targets is because of the front line people and the goodwill factor we employ.

Spot on. It's like this "you can have 50% of any savings made" scam. We make the savings, why should they get 50% of them?

Surely it's not wether a manager is good or bad deserves or doen't deserve a bonus. The fact is they got up £3000 and all we got is 92p and a pay offer which really is a pay cut.

DONT NEGOTIATE!!!! Ive been asked from Managment before for my and the office input in to work cuts, ways of working and so on..

1) The Screws in my office only offered this and ignored everything and done as they pleased..

2)Moving the goal posts and basicly lying is the first way to have distrust in the work place But they still do it and will do it until we stop giving them any acknoledgement at all... When they ask for Information or Input in to OUR way of working... It may sound like being babyish or chucking the bath water out with the baby, But ive had enough of being lied to... They aint gonna listen its all wind n piss... They patronise us and pat us on the head and we supposed to thank em and tug at our forlocks and skuttle off bowing and scraping.. "Yes boss no boss three bags full boss!" Then they Lay claim to MASSIVE bonuses when they plead poverty for RM.... :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad

Sorry but these two dont deserve any respect as the way they treat and bad mouth us in public... FECK EM!!!

As Crusiey and IWW said.. WE MAKE THE SAVINGS.. THEN WE SHOULD BE REWARDED. ITS FROM OUR HARD GRAFT OUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE JOB. OUR SKILLS AND TIME WE PUT IN TO THE JOB THAT NO SCREW WILL EVER UNDERSTAND OR PUT IN TO THIS OR ANY OTHER BUSINESS.. This is the sad way it is but we dont have to stand for it...... :no no :so there We should not negotiate over cuts in the jobs or duty changes when these two :cfo and :lfo him are in this business..... That should make the unions stand quite upfront and understandable even to a screw... We've tried to sit around the table WE have asked them to move and be reasonable.. They shun us and bullshite us and the public again and again... TIME TO LET OUR FEET DO THE TALKING.....
