Strike is a strikeout for all

Post by MasterBloggins »

I am sorry this is a little late in the day, but for all those CWU people striking today, lets hope that you have got it right and those like myself not in favour of striking are wrong.

I would like to think that the majaority of striking employee's are respectful of those who disagree with the strike, just like the majority of those who disagree are respectful of those who are striking, becaue quite frankly, some of the responses I have seen to my postings are petulent reflect and take me back to my distant school days I thought I worked for a company who employed mature adults. I'm sure if such attitudes are carried out onto the picket lines, the more curtious CWU members will be appauled.

Everybody is entitled to their opinions, it is just a real shame some people can't be adult about sharing them.

To those who have been respectful and are striking today - I hope the day goes well for you.

Thanks and I hope everyone that reads it takes it in the spirit its meant. I am the opposite side to MasterBloggins but I respect his right in a Democracy to have a different view to me, and he should be allowed to voice his opinion. If we on the union side resort to name calling and other tactics we are only damaging our own position. So this once MasterBloggins :Applause :Applause

a respectful reply to master bloggins

Dear Sir,

Let me just explain that I stood on a Picket Line from 4 oclock this morning to protect the conditions that have been negotiated over the years for not just me a quite unassuming CWU union rep but for you the worker who has chosen to believe the propaganda that has been pumped into you by the man who makes as much money in 1 year as you could ever hope to in a lifetime. I certainly do not mind you having a different viewpoint to myself, but in return I ask you to also consider my feelings. I have lost a days pay to try to safeguard what many before me have also did to allow us now to have this job with the conditions and pay that we have. If we now allow that to be stripped away, (through no fault of ours) then this would amount to absolute sacrilage. These people put their family lifes and jobs at risk to allow us now to enjoy a little benefit from it and if we now allow it to disappear then they might as well have did exactly what you are proposing now.

Dont get me wrong, I know that things have to change. We have competition and we need to be ready to fight the competition. Where you and I disagree, is that every Dictator I have ever heard of has now either been ousted or at some point there has been an uprising to oust them, you actually seem to be embracing our DICTATORS because make no mistake that is what they are.

I can only ask you to open your eyes to the view of the members who have actually voiced their opinions by their vote for this strike action. Somehow I believe that we cant all be wrong, and before you reply with a smart answer, believe me we are not all sheep just following the leader, every last one of us has a voice. It is now time for the Royal Mail, the
Employer who listens to its workers to now listen to the voice............In the words of Obi Wan Kenobi............................MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU

You can think whatever you want, cross the picket lines, back the Managers, take the pay that we are losing........the one thing that you cannot do is stop this movement. This is based on belief, based on the feelings in our heart, and also based on the belief that you and the Royal Mail are taking the wrong road.

Now if you believe different to that you may well be in a very small minority, have your thoughts I respect your differences,

My thought for the day is you would make a great BUS DRIVER................... all my love ....xxxxxx

Been watching to see if I would get any reply from MB to my post, but it would seem that he is still out on the streets delivering the backlog to last week.

Or maybe he took my advice and is driving a bus now.
