I am disabled. I am diabetic .I rely on the Royal Mail service for appointments and results. Because of the strikes and the post backing up as a direct result, I have had to cancel my annual diabetic review because the appoinment and sterile biopsy container arrived four days before the appointment and a blood test takes ten days to process; both were stuck in the sorting office but were sent out on time by the hospital. I had already waited six weeks for the appointment. I will now have to have another appointment which will take six weeks to come to fruition and guess what? Every postal communication will be handled by Royal Mail.The circle continues,the monopoly continues, the strikes continue and my health suffers as a direct result.
There are thousands like me and we have had enough. The sooner you loose "Royal" from the company name and are privatised the better. You have lost public support accross the board because of the periodical strikes instead of an all out strike and any sympathy is waning. This has been a poor exercise in winning the hearts and minds of the public and you should look at your union leaders carefully because their strategy has been totally useless in winning the public over.
We are striking for our futures and the chance you have of having a " decent postal service"
We are not trying to win brownie points.
People are losing money every day and are in danger of not paying bills and having money for food etc. Blame the government and this twat :mfo and this one :cfo and this one :lfo

I believe that Royal Mails modernisation plans aim for casual labour on 20 hour contracts to deliver the mail that machines sort.
I KNOW this will give a very poor service but significant profits and will be the aim for all competing companies.
I will strike to keep the service as much a service as possible and to keep my full time employment an enjoyable and satisfying job.
I want a good service that I am proud to belong to and I can't see this happening with Royal Mail's current direction.
Believe me, it will get permenantly worse if we don't strike.

volunteer to deliver some mail,the bags are nice and heavy ,you get to walk miles,you would drop a few kilos and your health might buck up. You ain't the kid with the sad face who was waiting on the doorstep for her replacement kidney in the last get back to work films were you? Think you may have forgotten to mention that the sole reason for this dispute is management provocation,still lets put that omission down to low blood sugar
