just came across this site how wonderful is it anyway peeps keep up the good work.
can anybody advise me on a little situation i have now i do part time work only 20 hours per week now how much holiday entitlement am i allowed i was told by another memeber of staff who does only 22 hours per week that it was 20 days including 8 bank holidays, so does this mean that i am entitled to 20 days holiday and also 8 days bank holiday but i never wokr the bank holiday if it is a monday as i dont work mondays so i dont get paid for it either so am i only entitled to 20 days holiday as i only work 4 days out of 7 or should they be giving me the bank holidays as pay even though i dont work them or should they give me bank holidays on top of my 20 days meaning i get 28 days in total plz if someone could help us

as you dont work these anyways you book them as holiday during your work days.

Basic Holiday entitlement is the same for everyone and is not dependant on hours worked (except of course when you are on holiday you only get paid your basic weekly wage) 4 weeks is the minimum but you can purchase extra amount to bring it up to 6 weeks.
If your day off is a bank holiday you are entitled to have if back on another day, again this happens for everyone. It also happens if your holiday week falls when there is a bank holiday, a lot of senior posties use this to gain an extra week off over the whole year.
