My day of tomorrow, will be interested in how much work gets sent down, could be a nasty Saturday.
But the day won't make any difference at my place

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

i think the only way is for the union to get more involved. and start telling them to STOP coming in early

I'm sure as i've heard it before that if you come in early before your contracted time then you are NOT insured.
Therefore,if this is true then RM are liable.

we had this argument yrs ago in our place. the manager said that anyone that turns up early is insured. mind you i dont know if he was just bull sh*tting. but something will have to be done if we are to hold on to full time jobs. finnishing early is great. but not if we lose more and more jobs.

Post by L Tommo »

I to have asked this point before to Managment and was told THEY would take the due care of letting ppl work before time so no need to worry,,, Wot a load of BULL!!!! They will be responceable until some one injures or beg not has a heart attack as some 1 i know did in works time,, We know that RM will back track like on everything else they dream up to hoodwink us again.,,.

In Burslem 100% started on time and 100% finished on time. Not just today but EVERYDAY :Applause . If every one in our office started half an hour early it would total 40 hours a day or 240 hours a week. This is like giving away SIX FULL TIME JOBS. . Get real guys and start and finish on time every day it's the best and only way to protect YOUR FUTURE. :dance

NICE 1 there's a old saying in my office,, It goes like this.. "they dont like it up em" bit of cold steel.. I think the CWU is a spent force, OUR union is not worth a cup of cold pi*s!! More frontline action like Burslem and WE wouldnt be in the place where we find ourselves now.. That is the true meaning of UNION. Not some jumped up rep (with good intentions @ first) then has his head turned as MANY have before ..30 pieces of silver come to mind.. Or 25hrs of presigned scheg to "KEEP IT SWEET" as it happened in East London not so long ago.... FACT!! All i say now is HANG EM HIGH N FEED EM 2 THE SHARKS,! EARLYBIRDS BEWARE!!

L TOMMO, one of the reasons we are united in Burslem is because we have strong willed union reps who are an absolute credit to their positions. I'm happy to pay my subs just for the privilege of having these guys representing me. Their good sound advice and high principals help to keep us together.

If everybody just worked their contacted hours for just one week Royal Mail would wake up and give us(not impose) a, a realistic wage b, realistic overtime rates and c, not treat us all like muppets -all this can be achieved easily if we stand together and don't let RM stand on us which is what they are
trying to do right now!!!!!

it is all well and good to slag off the cwu,but just remember the onus is on the staff within the delivery office to ensure that all duties are as level as possible,(pressurei the management where possible)seniority should not be used as an excuse for an easy duty.a level playing field may retain the new entrants.

working your proper hours days is just highlighting the problems that are too apparent in the working environment ,employers are getting alot of work done for nothing.

next year hopefully will be different as more people are aware ,particulary as efficency savings will be constantly in our face.everytime a manager sees a worker scratch his arse he sees an unproductive employee, what will he do next ....i wonder???[/b]
