The Government may postpone a Commons showdown over the Royal Mail sell-off, Lord Mandelson hinted yesterday.
The controversial legislation was due to be debated on June 9 but the Business Secretary let slip the second reading could be delayed.
He said: "The Government is going to proceed with this legislation. The second reading may not take place on June 9." No10 faces a massive rebellion by Labour MPs over part-privatisation. More than 150 backbenchers, including a dozen ex-ministers have signed a motion opposing it, warning it could ruin the postal service.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

You would have to ask Reinaldo that
'Dear chief secretary, I'm afraid to tell you there's no money left,' ( Liam Byrne MP )

now , now we don't want a piece again from Mrs White ? with journalistic gems such as " a vile bigoted site " " I cannot bring myself to mention it's name " , & " reminiscent of a skinhead's reunion forum"savo wrote:You would have to ask Reinaldo that

the labour party as we no it now is dead and maybe many labour mps no it as well so after they get killed in this years and next years elections faced with the choice of joining the rest of government against us workers or rebuilding bridges with us for the future they have chosen the later.Big Daz wrote:9th June

Privatisation has been dumped, just like i said it would be. Be prepared for a public sector alternative with much the same efficiency savings!

Even if Alan Johnson takes over cant see him reviving the Postal Services Bill, not if he wants to rebuild links with Labour grass routes.

He's done enough damage already too this union and postal service!. Don't get me wrong the service to the public is the most important thing and the worker's second and profit third!.fmrPOSTIE wrote:Even if Alan Johnson takes over cant see him reviving the Postal Services Bill, not if he wants to rebuild links with Labour grass routes.

Don't mean to be pedantic but I'd put working conditions before customer service. Normally what's in the interest of the workforce correlates with the interests of the public anyway. A good amount of full time, regular posties imrproves the service.
