'Losing business'
The Royal Mail counters that it cannot afford to offer any more money and needs to make itself more efficient.
"We are losing business because we have failed to change and modernise - and as a result, our costs and therefore our prices are higher than those that rivals are charging in the intensely competitive business mail market, which makes up 90% of all postings," said Mr Crozier.
"That's the issue everyone in Royal Mail has to face and why we are so ready to continue talking with the union about the need to modernise."
CWU members at the Royal Mail voted for the strike action with a majority of 77% on a turnout of 60%.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

NO :cfo our costs are higher than the parasite companies coz we don't have a sucker company to do the work for us at a stupidly restricted price and coz we're the only company with a "universal service agreement"

Crozier's a tosspot , of that everyone can be sure. :cfo He speaks of RM's high costs , and yet not one sign is there that he's
about to get off the RM , executives only , gravytrain. Nope , to allow him to continue to keep taking the very excessive amount of money
he's currently trousering, we , that's me and you , have to accept an inevitable decline in our already non-too-grand standard of living.
:cfo NOT BLOODY LIKELY CROWSHITE , ERRR , I MEAN CROZIER.

Obvious message Adam..................if we ALL take a 25% pay cut then we'll be able to compete.
Only one or two small problems?
1) Unlike AC my bills actually take up most of my wages.
2) Surely then the regulator will force us to take downstream access even cheaper (Sooner or later we'll be paying TNT/UK Mail for the honour of delivering their mail!)
3)This remember is the prat who stated ONLY LAST YEAR that we we're ready for competition!
JUST REMEMBER WHEN YOU'RE STILL DELIVERING AMAZON (AND THE REST) TO TELL THE PUBLIC WHAT 'COMPETITION' MEANS- THEY PAY MORE TO GET A DELIVERY (Sometime/someday), WE GET A PAY CUT, BUT THE BULK POSTERS GET A MASSIVE CUT IN THEIR BILLS.................AND NO DOUBT THEIR CHIEF EXECUTIVES AND CHAIRMEN GET BIG BONUSES.
