I have a recollection that things were going to be more structured and the S word no more but week by week we slide back to where we were. Spots and Leopard. I hope not otherwise all it does is give ammo to those that want to privatise. That and a spate of crooked posties this and last month. None of it helps lets be honest.

Balloon day on Friday - best make sure Billy doesn't accidently sit on the compressor then. Now theres an idea, quickest way we'd see a leadership challenge. Wardy does sound like a used car salesman but he at least he can cope when interviewed.

Low points, thats quite cool. I feel almost triumphant.

Last instance of the word Scab was me http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... ab#p144164" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; on 11th Feb reporting words used by an MP in Parliament referring to TNT.

one before that was 18th Dec 2008 - it did not refer to an individual but actual mail http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... ab#p135313" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

after which I issued a general warning and it then stopped, until you used the term :Very Happy on 3rd March

Hardly creeping back is it twice in 2.5months.

Again IWW used in on 3 march about a group namely the CMA - they did break our strike and the term a least IMHO was not meant personally.

Tman on February 24th so his section was solid during IA as in "no strike breakers here"

Mr Militancy used the term and his posts were deleted on 29 Jan 09.

Senior Service used the same term along the same line on 1 Jan 09

SO a slight increase here 4 times the term strike breakers or strike breakers has been used in this year hardly a big problem. But as you have complained I shall address the situation.

linkinpark wrote:Sorry but why bother? we are what we are if that word upsets some cant RMC change it as posted? so that the word becomes s**b or something? A few members think its OK to deride ALL other members for ALL VIEWS that dont agree with them offer nothing and go out of their way to get those subjects locked and sometimes do by picking on other members (and i count myself as part of that problem because as everyone else i aint perfect!) But to keep hearing the same rats squealing cause they got their tails burnt because they have nothing to offer is cr*p! Free is good but when turds try to make us all dirty it is not so good! And that aint a go at the Postman or Moderators cause in truth they are more than fair its cause some members go out of their way to be contraversial for a reaction and then weep when they get it and dont have an answer but end up looking STUPID!
Links, you've never said a truer word.

No, that'd be me.... :chuckle

Worrying that anyone should get singled out for that sort of comment though, as it's all just opinions, ultimately. In a different clique, Borders could be the one....

Indeed. Not everyone believes in standing there with a bobble hat on and 'being counted'. Maybe its a north/south divide thing, who knows, but it does put water on the glowing embers of the so-called unity theory. Fact is we all have different viewpoints but unity, if there ever was any, hasn't stopped privatisation which will go through. Not that I ever thought a few red banners and maintaining billy's circumference would add up to much.

Whether I'm regarded as 'irritating' or not, all my predictions have been far closer to what has actually happened in the real world than any branch meeting in the back room of the Red Lion. I tell it how I see it, and if thats irritating then so be it, but I'd rather have my eyes open than the wool pulled over my eyes. Look how many posts there are on objecting MPs but someone hasn't been doing the maths on this. The privatisation bill will go through easily and Mandelson will get his way. Thats irritating too, but its the truth. Whats more irritating is the constant bugle calls and false optimism that to be honest has gone on way too long already. My last prediction is that if TNT do take on the minority share, it won't just be terms and conditions that get rewritten. The Dutch have a track record of rooting out any kind of whistle blowing or what they see as subversive and there won't be a soap box left to stand on, much less anyone to stand on one. The SWPs will find a new cause somewhere else, the union will continue shrinking, more part tiime work will become the norm, and all this will be forgotten about after a few years.

If you like to cosy yourself in absurd notions of working class grandeur and pictures of Scargill pasted everywhere, thats fine, but it'll come as an almighty shock when people realise that the CWU can't stop this at all and are just on a damage limitation excercise with a few token speeches thrown in to show they're having a go. Thats the real truth. We're in a hell of a recession and any voice we had has already been muffled by bigger problems elsewhere.

at last a decent post and in all honesty i cant disagree with anything you say. Scargill IMO wanted to defeat the Government and change the direction that British politics were going at the time, Thatcher knew this and with the strength of the state and other circunstances , Scargill was defeated. i admire Scargill for having a go and who knows in the future" absurd notions of working class grandeur " as you put it may win the day. however , it is probably not likely to happen in my lifetime .with regards to the Unions of today i agree they act in a Reformist manner and really act as a buffer zone between management and the workers. all i ask is lose the petty insults, i know a lot of people on the left- my best mate is Area Rep and like me we are both ex- military having served in Northern Ireland etc. this adds nothing to your opinions and frankly is rather condescending.
