Hi
I work in the HA postcode area. I am a union member, but somethings like the equalisation of walks i dont have a problem with, but the management and unions just seem to be trying to score points off each other, without thinking of the consequences. Do ordinary posties elsewhere, get asked what they think ?? or is it like our area, they all know what we think, but no one has ever actually asked.

Hello mate welcome, kinda get your point.
I think this time around the Union are trying to get us the best deal possible.
There's not one string that is any good for us.
Personally, regarding the pay rise,i'd take what they're offering but with NO strings.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: 5 HOUR WALK SHOCKING
No she is cutting off every day even on days when she does a bit over her 6hours. Madness absolute madness. Apparently they forgot about the long drives on her posh walk. They took 13 walks from us and 1 section (out of 5) has had 2 walks put back in, we reckon my section is going to get 1.5 or 2 back. I reckon we will have a net result of 8 lost walks.johnnypick wrote:T.B.T. mate how on earth have you got that, and how does the person on it survive? That would kill me ,3.5 is long enough, are they finishing the walk within the duty time?

I hope they get that sorted out a bit sharpish,it shows with out input from local posties how they mess things up ,no walk should be more then 3.5 its the national agreement,im sure of that.

hi, yet another new member !!!!! yes !! as a union rep for my d.o. in the bs area, i think you will find that the union has your your best interests at heart ?( maybe not always right ?) but as for the 2nd part of your message i totaly agree ! the management do not know or CARE what you think, or are interested in your input. perhaps if they listen to us on the frontline a little bit more they may not be in the s**t they are in now ?

Welcome clevedon bs21 - In a way I don't blame all of it on RM management. Bliar has to take a lot of the flack for letting the EU open up what should be a state controlled sector, not a free for all based on PROFIT only.
