It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I'm a ULR at Burslem DO. In conjunction with the local college we have put on courses in our office. These include numeracy and literacy up to GCSE standard, BSL ( British sign language), basic IT and Spanish. If anyone in the midlands area is interested in becoming a ULR send me an e-mail and I will give you some contact information.

 The Goverment have produced legislation that requires employers to facilitate learning in the workplace. It's method of rolling out this legislation, is to use the structure of the unions to organise their membership in conjuction with educational bodies, to push the legislation forward. This involves amongst other things, training ULRs and creating learning centres in the workplace. :Applause
