Hi from a new (soon to be) employee

Hi all

Just been offered a position as network driver based at Brightside Lane in Sheffield

(which I have accepted) . Start on 22nd September.

Really professional look/feel to the online application system - kept informed all the way through by email and texts, and just 9 days from application to offer, so I hope thats a sign of things to come

(but I welcome all comments from you guys if you have any advice for me, good or bad)

Can't be any more stressful than where I am now

Welcome to RMC and hopefully Royal Mail as well Yorkiepud. However I must point out as per the rules and home page we are independent of the Union and Royal Mail, it just so happens that most of us Work for Royal Mail. The comments on here are personal views and it should not be taken as official policy of either RM or the CWU.

Once you are working, especially as a Network Driver, join the CWU. I am guessing most of the Managers will not understand the Tacho rules as much as their drivers do and you may appreciate the backing from the Union if Managers inadvertently put pressure on you to break the rules.
