Dear Colleague,

Re: Pay & Modernisation Agreement - Â£400 Lump Sum Payment

Branches will wish to know that a number of enquiries regarding the payment of the Â£400 lump sum making particular reference to part time members have been received at CWU HQ. These enquiries have also made reference to an unagreed Royal Mail Pay Directive which sets out the payment arrangements for the Â£400 lump sum.

The Postal Department is currently arranging an urgent meeting with Royal Mail to discuss and deal with the issues that have been raised by branches in connection with this matter.

Further reports will be made to branches once the meeting with Royal Mail has been held.

Any enquiries regarding this LTB please contact the DGS (P) Department quoting reference 60000.

I joined in Feb. Was led to believe we'd get it as it was something we'd signed up for in the future, not something in the past when we weren't here. Any thoughts much appreciated. All our office got theirs this week by the way. Perhaps a Union Rep could clarify the situation please?

we recieved a letter today saying we would be recieving a further 400pounds on the 30th may,is this in shares or payment?there seems some confusion in our office as to exactly what this is

well if u look at the bold writing they said they will be paying it on 30th may which is a friday, thats the national one and local targets 400 quid aswell, so gather its money?

I 'm confused it mentions colleagueshares which i understand was not cash but an increase in the number of shares we individually own. Shares which can't be cashed in or sold until so many years has elapsed. So just a piece of paper saying I have Â£400 quid of which I can do nothing.

The whole smoke and mirrors bullshit beats me.

you'll get 400 quid cah on 30th. you'll also get a certificate saying u have shares. Just a glorified bonus scheme where Allan pretends you have shares because he couldn't get his way over privatisation!!............... Yet :(
