To sum up very briefly:
I had a 7 week period where I didn't work for Angard due to having a very minor wrist procedure - nothing invasive just some regular physio.
Anyway, of those 7 weeks since my last shift, 4 of those weeks I had booked a half-day holiday, meaning that between my last shift and the one I have just done there were only three weeks where I calculated I had had a 'break in service'. (My first shift back was this last Saturday just gone).
Anyway I went into JoinedUp today to just make sure everything was correct and shift approved etc and I see I have been put down to non-AWR rates with an uppaid break.
My understanding was that my holiday should have 'stopped the clock' meaning that only the three weeks where I didn't receive any payment (no holiday pay and no shift) should have been counting against me.
Is my understand correct, and if so, should I bother contesting this or will it just be the proverbial head against brick wall scenario. It's not my main job so it's not going to hugely affect me financially but I do feel a bit cheated. Thanks

In 2022 payroll advised "holiday does not restart you week count but only pauses it for the week in which holiday was booked."

Ring payroll and they should sort it out. When I worked for Angard I had the same problem when I was off over 6 weeks and they ignored the holiday I booked. It also happened to a number of people I worked with during the quiet periods. Their systems just see over 6 weeks and seem to ignore any holiday booked.

Okay thanks guys I’ll drop them an email, crazy that their systems still don’t pick up such a simple thing after a couple of years at least.

You're probably better off ringing payroll. If you do email make sure it is addressed to payroll or you probably won't get a reply.

Re: Angard not counting holiday as 'pause in service'
Thanks so much for the advice. I dropped them an email this morning (to payroll as suggested) as ideally I prefer to have a record of the correspondence but will call up if I don’t hear back by middle of next week.
I’ll update here once I hear back to say if I was sorted or not in case anyone else ever has the same issue.

Re: Angard not counting holiday as 'pause in service'
Just to wrap this up, they actually got back to me within a reasonable timeframe, of just under 2 working days. They said:
“I have reviewed the below query, I can confirm that we have now made all relevant adjustments regarding the incorrect pay rates that have been applied to your working hours, you will also receive the correct rates of pay for hours worked moving forwards and you will be receiving an underpayment/Pay Adjustment on your payslips within the next two weeks.”
So if anyone else has a similar issue it’s not too hard to get it resolved but I still find it odd that it needed manual intervention for something so simple.

Bumping this old thread but same s*** (excuse my french) just happened to me. 6 weeks off over the summer, holiday booked every week and reset down to the new starter rate now I’m back. Can’t believe how useless they are.

I'm expecting the same. I got cut off but already had holiday booked in for the week after, then I got called back in but none of the shifts got put on joined up.I've now gone through all the shifts I've worked and I don't have a pause in service of 6 weeks but I'm fully expecting them to try to claim I do.
I do think the pause in service should be linked to the number of years worked. I know someone that has been agency for over 6 years and now lost his AWR due to the company cutting off agency despite being chronically short staffed.
They still owe me pension contributions from 2 years ago.
Their payroll system isn't fit for purpose.

Re: Angard not counting holiday as 'pause in service'
Yeah it’s pretty poor tbh. Also just seen today they cancelled a 6-hour shift that I have already worked last week for “no hours entered”
But I’d scanned in and out on the electronic sign-in system, as well as the manual paper sign in. Everything completely normal. But shift inexplicably cancelled.
I’m fortunate in the sense that I wasn’t counting on the money to be able to live my life but as you say, it’s not fit for purpose at all.

Re: Angard not counting holiday as 'pause in service'
That happens because the Manager didn't confirm the shift. Pre Angard I was with Manpower and if the Manager didn't confirm the shift I got a phonecall telling me to go remind the Manager, Angrad just cancel the shift.
It's caused me so many issues.
My pension contributions are missing because the manual adjustment from pay missing previous weeks puts me over the threshold so they don't calculate pension contributions properly and it also affects NI contributions, If the manual adjustment puts my pay over the £944 weekly threshold I'm better off but if it is below I'm worse off,
Their payroll system is basically causing them to break employment law.
