Because we haven't been on the offices 'officially in trouble' list for some time, that gives senior management no real incentive to put in additional staffing/duties that have been promised. People on my duty who haven't received their post for days is meaningless when management aren't that bothered about a handful of failing duties; it's bothered about the overall QoS in the office.

As far as I'm aware RM used to have a specific delivery route completion target but the new performance framework is allowing managers to optimise the aggregate QoS by concentrating service failures on a minority of delivery routes. This is something that needs changing because no delivery route should really be suffering any non-completion beyond a defined threshold.

It's about time RM started reporting the exact delivery points that are experiencing consecutive delivery failures because without it there is no incentive for management to rotate resources, redesign oversized duties, authorise any overtime or supply any additional resources to fix the underlying problems.

We started dm26 this week, so we do 1/3 of another walk which we share doing mail each, and then another third doing tracked and 1st class together. Then the driver does the tracked a DJ first class on the either walk while the PASSENGER does the bags up to 6, so no you don't get to stay in the cab doing nothing.

From what I've seen the most efficient way is what you've said I think. Driver does 4 light loops whilst partner starts the heavy loops. Then you both finish the 4 heavy loops on that walk. Then on the second walk, heavy loop each and finish together on the 2 light loops. In reality there will often be too much work even when done efficiently.

It's frustrating to say.....but Ofcom needs to hit Royal Mail with a massive fine if they don't meet delivery targets once this is implemented across all offices.

You get gifted the opportunity to reduce the service and staffing levels so that you can make a decent profit, then you're going to throw it back in Ofcom's faces, employee's faces and customer's faces?

There is only one person feeding his face and that is Kretinsky and the government and OFCOM will do nothing just like the water companies "we are not making a profit but paying ourselves millions" this is the state of the Western world and governments have let it happen because they are in on it,the only way to slow this down is for us workers to slow down and make sure there is nothing to take.

Every walk will be different. I've been covering a walk this week that I know very well. The way I do it we complete on time or close to it and the walker does about 20% less walking because I even out the loops, the way others do it, the walker does a lot of walking and they don't complete the duties.

What does this mean?

I'm guessing they mean on the two walks that go out alternating heavy and light the driver is doing all the light and the other person is doing all the heavy as opposed to doing them both together as you're supposed to do.

But I might be wrong.

But then why do the heavy together on the other walks but not your own two? ( I know technically the other two thirds are your own now too )
