Last December I was getting concerned at the creaking noise my frame was making when I tried to add another tray load to the previous 14 days already forced into it. The RM2000 Preparation Guide v1.4 (2012) doesn't list a maximum weight load so it's time for some back-of-the-envelope numbers...

Standard letters are ~10g per item. The average house is getting 4 letters a week now (0.66/day pre-DM26), double that callrate for 'peak'. Average DPs per duty was ~575 locally pre-DM26.

No idea about packets above the frame. Shoebox dimension is supposed to top out at 2KG. The prep guide says an average of 7 can fit per column. The office average was 5.5 columns before the changes.
