Very similar in ours with some of the single persons in the pod. 2/3 of a 750 delivery point duty on heavy and 2/3 of a 750 houses duty on light. So effectively being in charge of all items for 1000 houses. Singletons doing the 50/50 are lucky to hit 300 houses, before the 50/50, so 150 houses a day with all items. The job of dreams.holty18 wrote: ↑02 Aug 2026, 09:38Everyone in our office want's the Rural rounds, they have essentially got a job upgrade, longer hour days while doing the 50/50 models, it's hilarious how this has came through, they will just drag there little feet around and have a nice easy day while the pods get absolutely hammered, the solo driver in the pods has to do 2/3 of 2 rounds heavy rounds then 2/3 of a light round, imagine the difference in workloads, most town jobs already get hammered with far more parcels in the van shared jobs, the workloads are going to be so uneven it's unreal!

Re: DM 26 questions
It was my understanding that a pairing does the heavy frame together, then the driver scoots around doing the packets and 1C on the light side while the walker does the heavy on the third frame (likely requiring a bag refill from the driver). Maybe. I don't know. After a week of DM26 I should really be able to tell you with certainty how it works, yet I can't.Kooyong wrote: ↑23 Aug 2026, 10:45So on DM26 are the van shares doing the heavy loops together at the same time, then the light loops at the same time. That's how I thought it was going to be from looking at the little diagrams that are on display. But reading from people online they seem to be saying one person does heavy side while the other does light and then next day you swap over and do the opposite, which doesn't seem very efficient
Honestly I'd be happier being left to do the heavy side in peace, though the limiting factor is 2006 volumes without the 2006 infrastructure to store it (the pouch boxes). Can't leave an LWT on the street unattended for four minutes whilst in a block of flats times 70!

Re: DM 26 questions
That's hardly a fair comparison as they could be driving for 50 miles plus they now have to spend time either on a lapsed duty or delivering tracked parcels, it's very unlikely the business is going to let them sit in a layby listening to Talk Sport for an hour as they've run out of work.Perseus wrote: ↑23 Aug 2026, 12:23Very similar in ours with some of the single persons in the pod. 2/3 of a 750 delivery point duty on heavy and 2/3 of a 750 houses duty on light. Granted we are an all rural office but we are taking parts of a lapsed walk all Mail along side 50/50 and doing between a rund and a round and a half on satTopperGas wrote: ↑23 Aug 2026, 22:09That's hardly a fair comparison as they could be driving for 50 miles plus they now have to spend time either on a lapsed duty or delivering tracked parcels, it's very unlikely the business is going to let them sit in a layby listening to Talk Sport for an hour as they've run out of work.Perseus wrote: ↑23 Aug 2026, 12:23Very similar in ours with some of the single persons in the pod. 2/3 of a 750 delivery point duty on heavy and 2/3 of a 750 houses duty on light. But they aren’t driving 50 miles a day in ours.TopperGas wrote: ↑23 Aug 2026, 22:09That's hardly a fair comparison as they could be driving for 50 miles plus they now have to spend time either on a lapsed duty or delivering tracked parcels, it's very unlikely the business is going to let them sit in a layby listening to Talk Sport for an hour as they've run out of work.Perseus wrote: ↑23 Aug 2026, 12:23Very similar in ours with some of the single persons in the pod. 2/3 of a 750 delivery point duty on heavy and 2/3 of a 750 houses duty on light. The ‘pods’ are getting absolutely smashed every day and the singletons are coping with ease.

Re: DM 26 questions
DM26 has completely broken me. It's alright if you're a single driver but as the above poster says the pairing is absolutely destroyed. Every. Single. Day. I get home and barely have energy to do anything. Going to be going on long term sick if this continues the way it is, can't see a way out. Maybe death is the only answer, maybe thats' what RM want??

Can you give more details on why it’s broken you?Amiga500 wrote: ↑24 Aug 2026, 20:03DM26 has completely broken me. Re: DM 26 questions
Gaslit by managers and fellow posties at my DO. Just waiting till peak so their bravado starts to crack and they start to show the pressure. People coming in 45 minutes early every day to "get a start" on their fitting not realising they're just making unachievable duties look achievable.FirstPost wrote: ↑24 Aug 2026, 20:05Can you give more details on why it’s broken you?Amiga500 wrote: ↑24 Aug 2026, 20:03DM26 has completely broken me. Job's just become too physical, no two ways about it. Aching each day and under 40 still, can't imagine what the old boys feel like under this new model.

Re: DM 26 questions
Seems easier to just move the thirds that duties one and two take out to duties one and two....

Days being 30 to 60 minutes longer = extra walking and is going to take its toll on staff.Amiga500 wrote: ↑24 Aug 2026, 20:31Job's just become too physical, no two ways about it. Not sure why we were offered only 2 ways of working which makes out days longer, and I'm surprised there's been little uproar about it.
When they pushed finish times later 2 or so years ago weren't the union fighting against it.... now they just bend over.
Workload is also supposed to be even and fair...... yet this DM26 shafts pod workers, while pure singletons can easily clear their rounds. Yeah they might bring back some lapsing, but at least their own round will be clear and they'll have a clean slate the next day.

Re: DM 26 questions
For walks that are already maxed out on frame wings and fully double-slotted, where can any more delivery points possibly go? I thought they should just stick a small three column frame (no wings) between each pairing, that way no-one is crossing the office to get to the third frame. As it is, I'm well over the hill on making suggestions because noöne's listening.
The machine stops.

Re: DM 26 questions
I think they don't add the walks together so that peakmas they can then put the 4 people back on the 4:walks and maybe get some mail done.
