It won't be, no chance, unless you do a full office revision to try and and reach that scenario that's why it's more practical to quote a third and two thirds based on the overall time taken for the full duty.

Our office needs a full revision

Not because some of the paired walks are oversized and need loops taken off and duties put back in for DM26 to actually function; but because there are singletons (and most of them have less than 50% of firms) are clearing every day. Surely the whole idea of DM26 is to improve overall productivity and if there is spare capacity then that should be utilised?

Whether thats additional loops or an extra third doesn't really matter. What does matter is whether management really believe on an ad-hoc basis that asking someone to leave work on their frame to go and do someone's else won't lead to any confrontation. Because it will. And that brings us full circle to having a full revision to balance out everybody's workload so that everyone has a permanent full and light delivery specification.

From that you then decide how many duties, people and vehicles are required.

I really don't understand why management find this so difficult. It not as if they are trying to land people on the moon.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Should Mail be coming into offices in DM26 format even if that office isn’t doing it yet? Heavy/light.
Heard a few local offices have been switched over like this.

A couple of local DOs might have gone over but we've not been notified. We'll find out on Friday, if they have then just about all mail for them will get deferred.

We are starting soon, this week it’s changed, we now get sequenced for one of the two duties, more of it and swapping each day, first class for both, buddy boxes for both and mixed ip mail for both.

Revisions after a load of arguements , mind games etc , def not a nice place of work to . So if you are say one of the lucky ones and you make the dutys work ( maybe cause youre a harder worker than some not saying i am btw lol) Then come the re sign in a few months, bang someone jumps into your duty after what uve put into the duty and done. Its not a great situation to be in , esp knowing some are lazy , feels like a sitting duck lol

Like Kennedy declaring it had to happen before the decade was out, the only consideration that seems to have gone into deployment was fixing the date of deployment. Only once we've been catapulted into the air will work begin on building the rocket.

Ours kicked in one week from deployment as we were told it would. The Saturday before that was like Christmas, though. Two trays per walk, almost 50% callrates, heaviest I've seen it in years as the MC flushed out DTS in preparation. One week out and we get put on the failing offices list (three day moving average of 70% x 45% CR = 31%), which was a real great foundation for the new era.
The machine stops.

The only way to flush out the DTS is for it to be turned off, which is not allowed. Local management have had bollockings in the past for turning the DTS off. More likely you've just got unlucky and a load hit the time limit for the product used. Some batches were really busy last night with a load released and they haven't gone over to DM26 yet and aren't currently scheduled to.

You've prompted me to re-examine, and on reflection I suspect heavy-light got activated that Saturday - which is something I asked at the time and was told was definitely not the case. Two supporting scraps of evidence:

I prepped sequenced for several duties that morning, only two of them were a pairing. In this instance side A (yellow) had 15% and side B (blue) had 39%.
The minimum and maximum on the CSS sheet (11:47) is the same kind of wide variance as seen when it was officially switched over. And lo, the former is a yellow frame and the latter blue.

Case closed :nana

We started to get our mail in dm26 format three weeks ago.The trouble is our duty s have not changed yet so I'm heavy and light but I'm all light one day and all heavy the next, it's a sh@t show.

With the way the batches are this week, it does make me wonder if they've switched most DOs, if not all DOs over to it. We'll be able to tell which ones have as on Friday night, those who have will have 90% or more of the non-2C deferred.

If it’s a single duty isn’t there a way to manually split the frame down the middle to minimise the impact of it?

The idea is that switching on the algorithm early will allow struggling offices more time to clear before DM26 goes live because, in theory, you will have more staff on duty than DM26 requires - so every day you'll make a dent in the backlog.

That's the theory. But it does need offices to be reasonably staffed.

Not every office gets the algorithm triggered at the same time. There are various RM hoops to be jumped through before it's activated.

One of the problems there is that many duties found themselves on the wrong foot when it switched over. For example, if you were alternating between frames then suddenly you were expected to clear the same one back to back to get onto the pattern. That then makes an even bigger mountain out of the failed side, which causes it to rollover again.

Some paired duties which were being split up in the proposed pod structure found themselves with both sides being light and heavy on the same day. You can still see the background radiation of the state of the frames before implementation.

I spoke to someone who lives on one of the duties I cover but works elsewhere and he said the same. Whole pods coming in light one day then heavy the next. Totally crazy.
