Re: Boxing Day
The service update page on the Royal Mail website lists all the local and public holidays.
If Boxing Day is a Saturday Ofcom have agreed it is always a non service day which means if it is your day off you don’t get the day back.
The people app also tells you it’s a non working day.

Re: Boxing Day
Life's far too short to worry about needing or wanting a day off & being refused, I just tell them in advance, I will not be in that day using absent without leave

Which is fine if you can afford to loose a full day's pay? I'll tell my mortgage provider and car Ioan co that I'll be under paying them next month as a fancy an extra day off work!!
Pretty sure in the past posties in my office have been threatened with being conducted if they take random days off and so leave a duty uncovered

Ye gods! Another duty uncovered? 20 was acceptable but 21 is just beyond the pale.
The machine stops.

What's more important family day out, weddings, that once in a lifetime football match with your mates, stag weekends & holidays, all for 60/70 quid after tax, book a two weeks holiday abroad you need three Saturdays off, would you say sorry I can't make these events all for minimum wage? Not me life's far to short you'll be dead soon

Okay eighty/eighty-five quid
Weekly Net Pay: Roughly £404 to £423 after tax and pension deductions.
Daily Take-Home: Breaks down to about £81 to £85 per day.
Hourly Take-Home: Equals around £10.90 to £11.40 net per hour, based on a standard 37-hour working week.
