It’s in the shiny super duper agreement Ward and Walsh negotiated for us, written down in black and white and we all know that any agreements made by the CWU are watertight and never reneged on……ah wait…..never mind carry on yous may be correct.

Re: dm26
The re-pick is actually starting in January when it’s calmed down-LOL- but we’re picking before the really busy period-allegedly- well, so our rep says. Because they don’t want chaos during ‘peak’.

1) if that is true that’s an absolute disgrace.
2) you’ll have a very difficult time actually getting leave and any ad-hoc days will be impossible.

I wonder how many DOs will get the person who edits their Route Planner data to pull their finger out. The DM26 won't work so well if the Route Planner data is out of date as it'll mean that the sequencing will be wrong. RM must have added a field in the database to record what days for a given batch are the non-2C days.

Our office goes live middle Aug and repick was done weeks ago. Singletons and were first to go then everyone paired up with who they thought they'd get on best with.SMS1969 wrote: ↑01 Jul 2026, 21:10The re-pick is actually starting in January when it’s calmed down-LOL- but we’re picking before the really busy period-allegedly- well, so our rep says. Re: dm26
There are two options for the repick in the agreement.
1st the duties are allocated by the COM/union rep by local knowledge and agreement where they should keep people on their current duties with any extra bits added, displaced staff from removed duties are allocated to any duties they know that are currently vacant/unsigned for. The DM26 goes live and any adjustments are made to the new model to ensure everybody is happy and things are balanced and working. After an agreed time a full repick occurs where you get to choose a duty and sign for it. This works because you get to stay on what you know, try the new way of working with the chance to switch to another duty later if you really want to, you also get to know the content of every duty so are not picking blind and end up getting stuck with a duty you do not like. The repick will be done on seniority.
2nd I think there is an alternative where a soft repick is done prior to going live that is confirmed after deployment and any tweaks etc.

Re: dm26
The office should be fully staffed prior to deployment so should have the full allocation of leave reserves so this shouldn't limit the number of annual leave available for everyone unless you have a local agreement in place that already limits the way leave is allocated.

Re: dm26
Oh right, I thought people picking duties, like a list of duties on the board and people picking which they wanted to do going from top to low on seniority was a repick?pieoftheday wrote: ↑02 Jul 2026, 13:15That's not a repicksmok3y666 wrote: ↑02 Jul 2026, 13:09Our office goes live middle Aug and repick was done weeks ago. But it would only take one person deciding to move in the repick, then a domino effect would mean lots of people moving.mr hil. wrote: ↑02 Jul 2026, 14:37There are two options for the repick in the agreement.

And if they started by allocating duties I would move just to f**k them up.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: dm26
pre-Deployment Temporary Repick Principles
In the vast majority of cases, the temp resignations will be completed within 1-2 weeks and before deployment takes place.
Post-Deployment Permanent Repick Principles
The repick should be jointly conducted by the COM and CWU representatives, with the CWU representative given suitable release time to complete the repick as quickly as possible—not after Christmas.
The formal review period depends on the size of the office: 6 weeks for small offices, 9 weeks for medium offices, etc. There should be no delays until after Christmas; that is unreasonable. This process should be initiated after the formal review.
It seems like management is trying to delay until after Christmas, believing they will have a better chance of clearing their office if the same person is not moved after the post-review.
people losing their duties due to pods, individuals who once had singleton duties may need to share vans, and floating duties will be lost. The agreement states the process should be completed as quickly as possible.
Two weeks before deployment, the repick should start, and all duties should be displayed on the board, with a 14-day period to complete the repick for post-deployment.

Re: dm26
I'd be pissed if they said you couldn't move to your repicked duty as soon as DM26 starts. Why delay it... at the end of the day you all have to move at some point, why would it matter if it's as soon as DM26 is implemented or in January 2027. Just get on with it. It's suspicious - maybe January will come and management and your rep will say the repick changes aren't going ahead.
I understand a lot of people will want to stay on their current duty, but many people are going to be displaced as 3 posties will cover 4 duties, hence the DM26 agreement that a repick is mandatory.

Re: dm26
For once, I actually think this makes sense, but if all 4 in the group choose to take 6 weeks including 2 unpaid or service, that’s close on impossible to implement. How would it work with the Wallington week?
(I’ll do some scribbling, see if I can make sense of it before I get shot down)
