Thought they were losing money, £1million a day, so the business is sustainable as it is now, it just comes down to greed and £5million isn't enough.

How's that relevant to RM it's not like RM are the only only company he owns or he's only obliged to spend his money on RM?

Although I doubt he's spending anything like £240m as most of that will just be loans from financial institutions.

Of course he's not spending his own money. No-one at his level ever really has to even have anything in a bank account. Serious point: play the Trump board game. I found it very revealing - the banks just hand out money. Not to you or me, but to the rich and powerful. It doesn't matter if you're financially incompetent, just well connected.
The machine stops.

The fact that the CEO's recent pay package (£7 million) was more than what the company made in overall profit is quite telling. You couldn't make it up could you? On those figures our profit margin is roughly 0.06%!! Don't ever feel obliged to er.. give the company a few million back Martin Seidenberg. After all, we should all play our part in making the business as profitable as possible.

Management will inevitably argue that's why they need DM26 and yet no one acknowledges the elephant in the room. RM made £5 million and yet staff have seen bigger walks, more parcels, increased workloads, 2c being de-prioritised, duties left uncovered, pressure on attendance and, in our office, an overtime ban for the last 6 weeks.

And I keep saying that DM26 will only really work on a spreadsheet. Only my opinion....and I genuinely hope I'm wrong...but perhaps there's a limit to how much efficiency that can realistically be squeezed out of the fruit before there's nothing left but pips? As Mr Rush once said somewhere they have cut through the skin, the bone and now there's nothing left to cut but fresh air. I honestly believe that RM made the bulk of its savings when they could make duties bigger to the extent where most posties can't complete because they are now too big, but this idea of deferring work is just another level of bonkers. Surely captain obvious can see that if work rolls over into tomorrow's tomorrow then it is creating a backlog that either needs to be cleared with overtime or extra resource? Or if isn't cleared, the service suffers, customers lose confidence and business is lost.

And in the meantime, Bob has gone on long term sick with his mental health, Evie is now on maternity leave and poor old Ahmed is left to try and cover all the rounds in his "pod" working every Saturday delivering the Tracked and 1c and possibly most weekdays delivering the Tracked and the 1c because he is being pushed to the limits by his boss who has targets to hit. And 2c and D2Ds doesn't seem to have a target other than it being done whenever you can. Ahmed has many new partners, some good, some bad, some ugly, and they are all paying the price for RM's experiment.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
