It was only CWU members voting. That's far from the entire workforce.
By not joining the union they chose not to take part in the democratic system.
It was a cwu ballot.why would they allow anyone else to vote.

Around 10% of the workforce have chosen what the other 90% will be doing. That's not any democracy, that's CWU democracy.
The other 90 percent should have used their vote then
Only in the most fervent of CWU loyalists minds would there be 100% CWU membership. It was only CWU members voting. That's far from the entire workforce.
But it is a democracy, if they joined union they could have a vote they chose not too, but they will no doubt be the first lot to complain

I'm glad it was only the new entries voting on their paydeal. They can't whine that it was the legacy contracts' fault now

The pay freeze wasn't part of this deal, it was already agreed that it would match inflation unless inflation was more than RM wanted to pay, CWU lied.

ODM would not have been forced through with a no vote. DM26 is already being deployed, CWU scaremongering.

Forced redundancies would not have happened with a no vote. The company already cannot keep staff, redundancy isn't needed. CWU lied.

The extra Saturdays will only happen if particular shift patterns are chosen? Will reserves get them too, or just duty holders?

What happens on Saturdays at Christmas? One person does 200 tracked and 50 first class, 15 specials, 5 collections and a partridge in a pear tree, on their own?!

This new way of working may well be ok, however. Management are unable/unwilling to balance workloads, it requires too much intervention at local level with things like who gets the spare staff and managers of RM will struggle to comprehend and land this more complicated way of working.

Vote NO!

Nope, that's still democracy.

Everyone had a choice to vote and by not voting they chose to accept the result of those who did.
Pretty much like the EU referendum, those who didn't get out of bed to vote has no right to complain about the result and many did, no use whining after.

As it is with this ballot.
They might have decided that both options were s**t and that both options sold them down the river
Pretty much my view why I didn't vote also I thought it was a waste of time only being a consultation ballot,I'm certainly not gonna complain however I will go to work as usual do what I can then go home and repeat next day.

So was a certain 2016 referendum that someone brought up earlier, but such was the political capital invested into it that the result became binding.
The machine stops.

Indeed. Just like they will whine and complain once Reform get in. I know one thing, Nigel and co would never have let things get so bad for us, they actually care about the working people.

Funnily enough a manager from the Newton Mearns office was in our office championing DM26. He was using almost these exact figures saying all his Singleton drivers are finishing early.

We were told that they would rotate the 3 people on 4 duties so everyone has a go at walking and driving but they changed their mind for some reason.
and they all now drive grey vans with Amazon on the side :whistle :whistle :whistle

That's impressive if true as my example has up to 270 drops. The question is, are those finishing early actually going home? Or are they waiting to clock out like naughty school children waiting for the bell at home time?

Turnout for this ballot was 32.3%!

That's a poor show.
It's poor because we all knew what the result would be, The union always win their votes by hook or by crook, the members are just the cash cow that keeps on giving.

No, it wasn't. It was clearer stated that the government would abide by the decision.
