Result prediction thread
The results are in tomorrow for the vote. I'm not really sure what I was voting for but, as our office clears most days, why change? So I voted no. The last time we voted on something I thought no would win but was very wrong. This time I have no idea. New starts I presume will vote yes but how many are in the union?
I'm guessing a close one this time but from what I've read we are voting for more work to do. Hopefully common sense prevails.
No 55%
Yes 45%

64 per cent Y
36 per cent N
On a turnout of 39 percent.
It's consultative. They (CWU/RM) don't care.
PS I voted NO

Re: Result prediction thread
I wouldn't say your voting for more work to do, its that you will not manage the workload that's given to you within your working hours.
It's planned to fail, there is no other alternative and it will continue this cycle of failing only to reduce the service.
I really hope people have voted no on the principle that us posties don't want impossible workloads that can't be done within our contracted hours. The pressure and bullying will commence soon and I am not looking forward to this

Re: Result prediction thread
I can't honestly see the CWU doing a live stream at 5pm tomorrow to them announce it's a "no" vote when they are talking about the way forward etc, unless they are stupid enough to not realise it might be a "no" vote?
The other issue is they that they don't care as if it's a "no" vote they'll just tell us RM are bringing DM26 in by EA anyway and it's all our fault if we don't like how it's introduced into the DO's, in fact RM might prefer to do it by EA as they don't have to worry about offices being fully staffed which seems unlikely if our DO is anything to go by.

Re: Result prediction thread
What is predictable is that there will be huge cries of 'fix' when the yes vote wins.
People saying that non delivery voted it through (despite being outnumbered 5:1)
Turnout and apathy is what will be the biggest winner, with a meagre turnout of 40% and 21% of total staff voting yes to win it 52.5% to 47.5%.
I'm available for this weekends lottery numbers too.

It only happens if you allow it same in many forms of life not just work place
If you think you are being asked for things out of the norm go and see the senior men in your office for the low down
Know your start and finish times
Take your breaks
And at times the pda can be your friend
If you really unsure over a management instruction ask for it in writing
And remember can’t retain staff so you going to get a lot of leeway in general

Problem is most of us know that life is not that simple at RM, unless you have an easy going manager if you do then he might last the distance anyway.

Re: Result prediction thread
I’ve seen some good bad and occasionally ugly ones over the years locked horns with one or 2
Yes it’s not the job it was
But It really is that simple
Just do the job properly and don’t take it home with you
But each to their own expectations I guess

Re: Result prediction thread
I'm expecting a no vote of about 80%.
If they announce a yes vote then something very fishy is going on here.

I fully agree, the unachievable workload will lead to more pressure and bullying.Duesouth wrote: ↑28 May 2026, 20:47I wouldn't say your voting for more work to do, its that you will not manage the workload that's given to you within your working hours.

Planning to fail will lead to more physical and mental health problems.

Re: Result prediction thread
It will be a yes vote with a low turnout. Ward will then use it as a ringing endorsement of his brilliance and use it to cling to the wheels of power and his ÂŁ150k salary for a few more years.
This time next year when DM26 has been an abject failure the result will be used against us, “the members voted for this”.
I’m past caring now anyway. Any chance of improving this job and getting a fair and reasonable workload disappeared years ago.

Re: Result prediction thread
78% Yes.
When people are saying this model is better than the previous one which was a disaster, then most people will obviously pick the better option.
I personally have no idea how well or bad the new model will work. If it doesn't work and makes things worse, then posties will leave royal mail on an even more regular basis.
