Re: Letter
It actually says the unit cleared on the first day. It also says duties are leaving on time. What it doesn't say is what happened next. Welcome to the return of clear offices ruling.

Re: Letter
How far the company has fallen when clearing the office is seen as a success. And as mentioned cleared means what exactly ?
The vote means nothing really, if anything it has turned into a vote of the leadership of the CWU.
Can someone explain simply what the ODM and DM26 actually means ? We have been a trial office since last year, rurals doing half one day then the other half the next while parcels and 1st class all get done. Towns have been shafted badly, All mail everyother day, 1st class and parcels for two duties on the other days. means we have a weeks d2ds to do in two days one week and 3 days the next. We havent seen a union rep in months though and not sure what is happening.

Re: Letter
Packets are on the low ebb in the middle of the month and sequenced callrates for some duties in the top half of the week are bordering on single digits. We'll see how it fares on Friday when DTS opens the floodgates or at the end of the month when Tracked surges.
The machine stops.

Re: Letter
Surely day 1 would only be 1 days mail on the heavy side? How about an update on how much was cleared on day 8? And how much extra resource was required to clear, in summer.

Re: Letter
Manchester SE are the first of 240 units which will go live with DM26.
Remember all non priority mail for 50% of the walks are held in the mail centre ( Manual and Mech)
The DTS which was switched on this week at Manchester Mail Centre has work so far.
Even with the resign and change in ways of working it has gone , however it is earlier days and we will provide further updates as further units go live next week.

Re: Letter
The fact is we do care. However we do not the luxury to ingore the threats which face all of our members.
Ofcom have not changed the USO as some kind of sanction on the workforce, they have done it because they have full access to Royal Mail’s finances and deemed it could not survive long term without the change to USO.
I get that members do not fully understand the model and the fact that 50% of the routes will not get non priority letters (2nd class and DSA) and this will be held in the Mail Centre.
But this is a better model than the ODM model as it using the 4 into 3 in a more supportive way reducing the call rate and the amount of addresses each individual goes then ODM.
Ultimately our members will decide if they don’t want DM26 or an agreement.
Only a week to go before the vote will be announced.

Re: Letter
As others and I have said, in the last 18 months revisions could have been planned so that pairings do 1 side 1 day, and the other the next day. What's the point in putting 3.5k walks back in when you're having to take extra loops off 2 walks ?Martin Walsh wrote: ↑22 May 2026, 10:47The fact is we do care. Re: Letter
Haven't seen the letter but the question is are the Manchester office using the surplus staff to clear?
If so it's not really working.

Re: Letter
Martin do you think it’s really fair for offices that are mostly made up of shared vans to be taking on a far greater share of the responsibility of saving money using DM26? We’ve shared vans of nearing 1600 delivery points going to be paired up with similar sized walks then having 1 less member of staff to get the same work done - 3 doing 2 shared vans.Martin Walsh wrote: ↑22 May 2026, 10:47The fact is we do care.
