Re: Why some posties might be voting YES
Ive just voted no , my union rep said its the best we can get but this is going to be a car crash especially saturdays around christmas with half the staff
At least when it fails i know in myself i have not put my name to it . A huge problem down the line is a lack of safety net at the moment you can bring back second class , i asked my rep when your going over say on a saturday with first and tracked what to bring back if you cant complete , i got a blank look , interesting conversations ahead .

Doesn't your office have overtime offered at Christmas?
And nobody is on holiday.
I am no fan of this "USO reform" but it seems a lot of you are seeing problems that don't and won't exist.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

That’s upto management to decide, we have people bringing either or both back depending on which way the wind is blowing.Lapzio wrote: ↑13 May 2026, 21:22A huge problem down the line is a lack of safety net at the moment you can bring back second class , i asked my rep when your going over say on a saturday with first and tracked what to bring back if you cant complete , i got a blank look , interesting conversations ahead .

Re: Why some posties might be voting YES
There may well be overtime on offer and no annual leave but we are going on a 2 in 5 saturday off so 40% of staff are off more if any sick and most offices have at least 5% sick .
Even with no annual leave its the 2 in 5 saturdays off that is the problem, 40% not in , in normal times that may be fine not at christmas , loads of first class cards and tracked and rounds without a body on them , as usual it will be put on the most capable and most accepting posties . Im on mainly a rural but still at christmas can have 100 tracked plus loads of first class cards , no one has a round at christmas that can accomadate any form of lapsing , tbh it will become very apparent very soon that DM26 will not work and hopefully we will have something else by then.

I don’t really understand the apathy or unsureness of voting.
If you agree with DM26, vote yes.
If not vote no.
Not voting only serves to strengthen the yes vote %.

Exactly, you make your own mind up and use your vote, it's not a complicated issue.
Apathy is not going to help either way

Re: Why some posties might be voting YES
I doubt any postie thinks DM26 is a good move, the problem is what happens if we vote No, as I can't see RM just accepting a No vote and then binning the USO Reforms.
It's just surprising there's been no sweeteners offered to legacy workers to encourage them to vote yes, it really seems like turkeys voting for Xmas on the basis that they won't know what will happen to them if they vote No..

Same here not voting don't care what they bring in to be honest they are all shite odm,dm or whatever will come to work do my best go home.norris9 wrote: ↑13 May 2026, 17:03I am not voting as I honestly can't be bothered to work out in my head if it will 'work' or not....
Whether it works or not also depends on....
-Who I am working with.
-What rounds I am working on - our managers are incapable of making rounds even and different rounds take longer to deliver parcels too as some roads cannot be parked on, some rounds are off busy major roads with traffic lights, some aren't.
-Didn't they say more rounds would be added into offices...I don't know how many new rounds are getting added to our office.
So how the heck am I supposed to come to a conclusion on this.
+ I cannot trust the CWU's opinion that this works.... didn't the CWU dude involved in the trials say he thought posties did 6,000 steps a day.... how can I trust he knows what he's doing when he's so far out with that number.

Re: Why some posties might be voting YES
A version of ODM is coming in there's no stopping that.
For me the vote is simply do you think that DM26 is a good idea for delivery staff?
What happens if the result is no is down to people who get paid far more than me and you to sort out.

Re: Why some posties might be voting YES
Why are people trying to think 2 moves ahead here? "What if we vote no".
You are being asked if you want to do DM26.

Exactly right Perseus. Nobody wants to so there is only one way to vote.

Re: Why some posties might be voting YES
Part of me thinks that people might want to insulate themselves from the result by not taking part. And for what it's worth, there will literally be thousands voting yes for various reasons, which they are totally entitled to do.BenacreNick wrote: ↑14 May 2026, 16:06Exactly right Perseus. Re: Why some posties might be voting YES
At least if it's a heavy no vote when it goes to s**t in a few months we can all say I told you so and the public will also see the result of the ballot and that we were against it.
Make sure you all vote either way. But please vote no as it's going to be terrible.
