Re: Answer a few points
So a first class letter will effectively be like delivering a extra package when delivering tracked and first class except less time at the door so you'll be getting in and out of van more often?

Re: Answer a few points
People do that at our office but there's no way it should be happening, vans are dented up anyway but more than a few new dents are added by the HCT banging around in the back.
2 people lifting an empty HCT into a van not really a problem but lifting a full HCT is madness

Re: Answer a few points
How else will the HCT duties get their parcels and 1C on a Saturday if that is the method of delivery the rest of the week?

Re: Answer a few points
The van should be equipped with a lift and it should be strapped in.
If people are lifting full HCTs into the back of a van then they are stupid.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Answer a few points
How many people in the van doing how many duties worth of 1C and tracked do you think?

Re: Answer a few points
Based on previous years, that would need to take effect as of Halloween week! Not the official QoS exemption 'Peak' (first Monday in December to first working day of the New Year).
And very quickly that convoluted solution would unravel: the van dropping the HCT off could just be doing that work instead.
The machine stops.

Re: Answer a few points
Is there some sort of Appendix that we haven't seen to show how the Saturday operation works rather leaving it to 'local solutions' which border on the illegal (unsecured loads in back of vans) to risking making roles redundant?

Re: Answer a few points
Nothing is really explained, there's a new 25 min video on Workplace suggesting how great DM26 will be but gives no real information how it'll work.
I've no idea how the business or the union expect us to vote on something when they've given us so little information.

I think you've answered your own question, it's being left to offices to work out at local level.
Going to be chaos

Hold on... where's the fourth person coming from? So they get rid of 1 in 4 and then, what, stick a casual on with every unlucky third person for December? Yeah, that'll yield clear frames.
The machine stops.

No annual leave.
People working their day off as part of a Christmas arrangements agreement.
It wasn't so many years ago we used to send surplus staff to the Mail Centre for Christmas.
The agreement says an office has to be fully resourced before implementation.
I know it was a long time ago, but does nobody remember what fully resourced means?

How are most offices ever going to be fully resourced when RM is only paying around the minimum wage and staff are leaving virtually weekly?clashcityrocker wrote: ↑14 May 2026, 06:37No annual leave.

Can anybody seriously see the CWU will stop units from introducing DM26 if we vote Yes just due to staff shortages?

Re: Answer a few points
There isn't annual leave cover now. 4 on 4 hasn't cut it the last several Decembers. You need a support driver for every pairing (sirs five and six not appearing in this film) to have any hope of keeping frames clear for the resumption of alternation on January 2nd/3rd (or December 27th the way lapsing used to be).
The machine stops.
