Holiday change

Post by gurpbarnes6 »

I cancelled by holiday on JU but the holiday was processed. Payrolls advised: "In future, please contact your consultant of the site to cancel the holiday for you on JoinedUp." So has procedures changed whereby we need to contact our site consultant even though this was removed from the calendars by myself?

At what point did you cancel the holiday? How many days before the holiday was due to be taken did you pull it from JU?

Cancelled few days prior to the day if holiday, and was prior to payroll cut off. Payroll are saying holidays are to cancelled by calling up. Anyone else experience this issue if holiday being processed even though it's cancelled in time on JU.

I think holiday works on a different cut off point from standard payroll. You need to give at least one calendar week’s notice to take holiday (that’s in your contract) so I assume the reverse is also true and that it can’t be easily cancelled a few days before - or at least not without calling them up.

Pretty sure that if you now booked holiday on JU for let’s say, end of May, and cancelled it in JU a week or so from now, you would not have any issues.

I book and cancel holidays flexibly. Last time booked holiday 1h before the end of the day, after I knew I won't get shift that week.

It's not really like taking time off in full time job. I just use holiday to fill the gaps.
