I can’t get my head around this scenario…. 4 deliveries and 3 posties but there’s also a dpr , so that’s 4 posties and 4 duties using one more van than an actual van share , why wouldn’t you just have no dpr and have a shared duty where you do one side of all products and the other of just tracked and first class and rotate that each day. Way less complicated and way less of a nightmare for everyone involved.

I feel like we’re some sort of social experiment where doing a good job is actively planned against.

The top of the union and Royal Mail are both completely useless.

The problem with 50% on a rural is you still may have to drive down every farm track with a 1c or tracked so you'll take less out but not gain any time.

There will be plenty rurals like that, where you can only save 20-30 minutes ‘time’ by doing half the route all items and half premium.
Thats a measure of how desperate they are to save minutes by earmarking that extra time on another route.

Notice how we have to work longer each day in any scenarios to make it work as well.
It's a no from me, I'll plod on having one day off and doing my own walk thanks.

The sweetener is getting the 3% straight away instead of waiting six months while they argue about not giving the 3.2% that inflation is at.

Please can someone show me where in the full document it states where overtime rate at 1.25 for new entrants will no longer apply. I’ve seen quite a few mention it. Also mentioned by the Courier Checker Facebook page

• All employees on New Entrants’ contracts will receive a 4.75 % pay rise (see Appendix 1)
flowing through to London Pay ranges and Scottish Distance Island overtime and SA rates
and a 3% flow through to pensionable and non-pensionable shift allowances. This
represents a first step in closing the differential on pay, and is effective from 1st April 2026.

• As a further alignment step, the overtime rate for all new entrants (including those on a
fulltime equivalent working week above 37 hours) shall be x 1 the applicable hourly rate,
no later than 1st June 2026.

Singleton, Shared Van and High Capacity Trolley (HCT) Town walks, M-F, will be organised in groups of 4 where 2 will be
1c and parcels only and 2 will be all products. These 4 walks will be covered by 3 duties, consisting of 2 duties in a van
share and 1 singleton driving duty, utilising 2 vehicles. Each walk will rotate daily M-F

4 town walks ( two coloured Blue Two coloured Yellow) will be grouped together and be delivered by 3 posties

Day 1 Shared van pair on Blue walks will deliver all the mail as they do now whilst Singleton van delivers 1st class and parcels on the yellow walks

Day 2 Shared van pair deliver all the mail on the yellow walks whilst Singleton van does the 1st class and parcels on the blue walks.

Repeat Mon-Fri, Saturday only 1st class and parcels delivered So either fewer people in or earlier finish a possibilty

If the walks cannot be fully completed every day they will be reviewed and tweaked to even the workload across the 4 walks.

The current town walks will be made smaller so they should be able to be completed by donating some delivery points to the rural/firms permanently.

The rural and non town walks should have extra time available because they will split their own walk by delivering 50% 1st class and parcels and 50% all items, switching each half the next day Mon- Fri with Saturday only 1st class and parcels.

How does this help fatigue? You have the same 2 people doing double mail every day. That was the problem with odm.

Don’t worry, you’ll have the guys on a singleton duty who are coming to the rescue.
Two problems with that - firstly the time saved by only doing 50% all items and 50% premium on a singleton might be so small that it’s not worth driving to another area to help.
And secondly, the instant that people are told to help out the brakes will come on.

What’s changed for non drivers compared to the pilot?

As far as I can see they will still be flitting between four walks with double mail unless I’m missing something

Between RM and the CWU they have made this job unbearable. Over complicated the most simplest of jobs. No wonder they can’t retain staff. It just gets worse every year. CWU should hang their heads in shame

Monday and Tuesday you are doing 3 days mail on each plus 1/3 of door to doors on 1 and 1/2 on the other.

How many out of the 3 in 4 persons have to be able to drive,also will non drivers constantly be taking out double mail?

Wednesday yellow 2 days mail 1/3 of door to doors
Thursday blue 2 days mail 50% of door to doors
Friday yellow 2 days mail 1/3 of door to doors
Saturday first class and tracked on yellow and blue.
