Re: Extract from the CWU Reps DRP brief - Heavy and Light
For the time limits the DTS system goes purely on how many calendar days have passed since an item first goes through a machine (IMP or iLSM which sorts the mail into the batches). It doesn't matter if it's "2C DSA" or 2C stamp/meter/PPI/mailsort.

Same. Occassionally there's a 1C letter in the sequenced tray which is supposed to be 2C and DSA only (safe to prep into the frame which has not and is not going anywhere), which implies it slipped through whatever extraction process is being run.
The machine stops.

Can anybody also understand why the NHS are still using the DSA service to send out letters, today on my duty I was told to take just 1c and NHS letters but most of those arrived in the MECH tray so had probably sat somewhere within RM since Monday, or even last Saturday, but now were getting priority, which does make any sense.

Probably one way or the other, either we'll finally get an official announcement or just rumours from union reps who attend the meeting?
You have to fear it's a poor deal otherwise we'd be hearing it was another ground breaking deal the CWU had now agreed?

Because it's cheap and they can also shame RM into giving it a better service than they paid for.

Re: Extract from the CWU Reps DRP brief - Heavy and Light
I have recently had 2 NHS letters.
One telling me I am eligible for a lung cancer screening test but then telling me that as a non smoker I am not.
The second letter told me they are going to send me a bowel cancer screening test.
Both of them were completely unimportant.
It isn't much fun getting old.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Exactly, I've had the same so just because it's an NHS letter it doesn't mean we should drop everything and go deliver them on a velvet cushion before anything else, they've sent them using the lowest cost option for a reason - they're not critically important, obviously that doesn't apply to appointment letters but they get posted out far enough in advance that they should arrive in time.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑11 Apr 2026, 18:15I have recently had 2 NHS letters.

Re: Extract from the CWU Reps DRP brief - Heavy and Light
For both waves we put the 1C and the 2C through together, we let the DTS system decide what 2C will be released. If any 1C gets run through a CSS without first having gone through either an iLSM or an IMP, on an outward sort plan, the DTS seems to default to treating it as 2C.Mr Rush wrote: ↑10 Apr 2026, 18:35Same.
