Door to door allocated prep times

Post by skarnott »

Does anyone know prep time allocation for multiple door to doors? I was led to believe it increases with amount. Like for 100 its 3 minutes for one door to doors, but 3 1/2 minutes for second,4 minutes for 3rd. For 5 (500 individual ones) i was told its around 15 minutes. Can anyone clarify, or provide actual RM guidance?

There used to be prep times. It is very old.
Assuming you did 1/6th of a 500 call delivery -85 delivery points/day (very old) the times were as follow:

1 D2D - 4 minutes
2 D2D - 8 minutes
3 D2D -10 minutes.

I think it was then 4 -11 minutes, 5 -12 minutes.

I had to prep 4 d2ds into an already rammed frame, 550 calls. Took 1 hour and 50 minutes. Double slots are the dream!

There’s no time built in at all in our place

It’s as if they are a mirage that sort and deliver themselves

The time to prep unaddressed mail is built into the indoor time. Its become custom and practice to allow time for two contracts when planning duties. The agreed method is for the unaddressed mail to be thrown off last. In reality it's easier to throw them off into an empty fitting. You will need more time if the fitting is already full. Just ask what they want you to do.

Its common practice for the indoor time to allow for two contracts in the planning, if that's been missed off the planning then it's going to delay your departure.

Each day's d2d's are always done the day before, ie when we get back, so there's no faffing about in the morning trying to do them before the mech trays.

I was told a few weeks ago that DK is embarrassed by d2d's and that he wants rid of them, However I suspect the £2b income (it could be more ?) tells a different story ?

So they allow time for 2 door to doors in your prep time? OK that means on a week when you have none you would have spare time? Yeah right

What so they pay you overtime to put them in or are you saying when you've finished and got back early ?

I'd expect that like most things in DOs, no 2 DOs will do it the same, based on past threads
