I would have thought getting every single person to vote would have been a more effective option not that it will change anything anyway. Just looking at posts on Robin, they seem to be employing USO change managers all over the place who spend the day clapping each other for moving frames about and throwing up a few print outs of graphs on notice boards

Some of those turnouts and yes votes tell their own story. The CWU leadership have lost the dressing room.

It would probably be considered unethical to allow on CWU members to vote after all this was a poll carried out by the CWU not by RM, likewise if they ever consider IA they only poll members, if you want a say in any IA decisions you need to join the CWU.

I doubt RM would allow the CWU to poll non union members, as it would hardly support their suggestions that staff support the changes if the majority are voting "no"?

The question was do you support the unions heavy and light model

It was a bit haphazard way of questioning it for the ballot after all the “NO to ODM” placards

The reason the 97% mandate wasnt followed through with was Royal Mail threatened to stop subs being paid through wages.

If it were true, the union has done nothing for over three years to sidestep that scenario. Amidst the love-in with Dan, were they afraid to be seen manoeuvering?

Always. A vote conducted by the union at a union meeting should naturally only include union members. I don't believe non-members are barred from the meeting, but the rep will or should ask non-members to excuse themselves from the vote.
