Parcelforce driver here. In our depot we are still getting our normal bulk deliveries and now getting lots of large Royal Mail parcels, and quite a few smaller ones what would have been non pre advice, but passed to us. I think the company rushed this before getting the numbers of staff in each depot to be able to achieve a successful system. Our depot is now daily failing many deliveries, about 300 a day( these are normally large and take up a lot of space in the depot) when normally we clear. We are getting Royal Mail Large Tv's, Amazon Suitcases, and shitty Amazon boxes with one piece of tape to keep in 25kg of dog food. So if you think it is just one way traffic it is defiantly not, we are getting slammed too. Why they stopped us doing the POL collections I will never know, we have a large van, could accommodate this in our route and also drop off smaller parcels we couldn't deliver. Now we don't pick up from the POL anymore, and have to take out the ten parcels we could of got rid of the next day.
Had a box for an address yesterday, one of the regulars. Got to the address, a SMALLER RM postage branded box (i.e. smaller than the item I was delivering) doorstepped in the 'enclosed porch' , checked the tracking - delivered by PFW in the morning!!
As no one has explained the logic of the arrangement with Parcel Force it crossed my mind that could it possibly be that having huge parcels in our small offices gives more credence to the company stance on prioritising parcels over letters due to health and safety?

That would take some joined up thinking which seems very unlikely at RM?
We're getting parcel pickups where the labels say 'ParcelForce'. Giant bloody things that barely fit the van. So we pick it up but they deliver it? Or is delivery also being handled by RM despite what the label says? In which case, WTF is ParcelForce? Not 'what is ParcelForce doing?' - I mean 'what is it?'.

Had one or two like this, you can refuse if its silly size like not fitting on a york. but yeah lasdt thing you need is your heart sinking being expected to take a massive collection

Yet I've found small RM parcels which would fit in a delivery pouch on doorsteps where we would never leave them and checking the tracking shows they've been delivered by PFW! YOU COULDN'T MAKE IT UP!
Your COM or manager needs to arrange for these large items to be collected by Parcelforce.
They must use the REDLANDS dashboard every morning to assess and arrange. Make sure they do it & report them if you find them sitting in the office playing on the mobile phone.
