We have had a few toldnoff for using the same year all the time.
Managers know everyone signs for them, they just want us to make sure we use different years so looks OK to the people checking
You’ll be looking 👀 at a hefty sentence when they find out you signed on their behalf for some bowie killer zombie knife 🔪 & the recipient is now running 🏃 around some school playground 🫣
Is that supposed to be funny ffs wise up.

How do the photos look to the people checking, considering they're supposed to be in an open doorway.

The Crime and Policing bill (currently at Committe Stage in HoL) is going to require that the person who ordered the item is the one who receives it at the doorstep. Fun times ahead!
(4)
The delivery conditions are that—
(a) the person (“P”) into whose hands the bladed product was
finally delivered showed the person delivering it an identity document issued to P, and
(b) on the basis of that document a reasonable person would have
been satisfied—
(i) that P was over 18, and
(ii) if the buyer was an individual, that P was the buyer.
Also (we - the delivering person) could be committing an offence:
(2) The courier commits an offence if, when they finally deliver the bladed
product to residential premises in England or Wales, they do not deliver it into the hands of a person who—
(a)is aged 18 or over, and
(b)if the buyer is an individual, is the buyer.

(3) A person finally delivering the bladed product to residential premises
in England or Wales on behalf of the courier commits an offence if, when they deliver it, they do not deliver it into the hands of a person who—
(a)is aged 18 or over, and
(b)if the buyer is an individual, is the buyer.

People need to treat Age Verification products with seriousness. Do not sign for it. You are not paid less if you return it to the office.

For those doorstepping age verification items just think about the consequences if a minor decides to open and drink a bottle of spirits!

Ye gods, the parents might have to do some parenting... no, better to have the overbearing state write up some more laws.

I'd suggest taking the phone off them and smacking them, but I might get a knock at my door for incitement to commit a crime.
The machine stops.

It’s a joke when you have to asked someones age and they are clearly over the age of 90 I think you should only have to ask if they look like they are under 35 and most women don’t like giving their age

Just wait until you can't give an item to the OH of someone because they're not 'the buyer' iaw with the incoming law. Lots of aggro incoming!

Your soft knocking will be irrelevant if they are waiting for you because they have had a text telling them the item is out for delivery or if they see you coming down the path on the Ring doorbell.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

To be honest we shouldn’t be delivering this stuff, if it’s alcohol or a bladed item it should be collected by the recipient at the callers office with their ID and with the DO manager checking too.
Last week I had a teenage lad who just turned 18 a month prior answer the door for an AV item, he showed me driving licence which all seemed legit so I handed it over but it still didn’t seem right on reflection. What if it was his younger brother, how am I to know? Too much responsibility for us posties and something needs to change.
