A postman is hanging up his bag after more than 35 years delivering to homes near High Wycombe.
Julian Oaten-Wareham has called it a day after 35 and a half years at Royal Mail, delivering post to those in Naphill and Walters Ash for 31 years.
There has been an outpouring of well wishes to see Julian off with thirty-one supporters donating to a JustGiving page for his retirement gift.
Many left comments with kind words or memories including ‘Who will tell us when the plants need watering or the car needs washing?!’, ‘It's going to be so quiet without you’ and ‘hope you’ll still continue to wear shorts in the snow!!!’.
Resident, Amanda Dearden said Julian is ‘loved by many’ and ‘a huge part of the community’, ’the absolute best old school postie’.

Julian is also known for his kindness, as well as his neighbourly spirit and was noticed helping elderly people with shopping over Covid, bringing in bins, and checking in on people.
He said: "It’s what I would want somebody to do for me hopefully one day.
"I just come and deliver your letters. You don’t realise just for the couple of minutes you spend at the someone’s door how much of a difference you can make to their day."
Julian told Bucks Free Press that his favourite part of the job was ‘interacting with the customers’ and that they were what had ‘kept [him] in the job’.
Local author, Kat McFarlane, organised the JustGiving page and said the fundraiser, which raised over £500, ‘really showed how much he means to people, the donations and messages came in so quickly'.
She added: "Everyone knows him not just as our postman, but as a genuinely kind and thoughtful presence, he brings a bit of sunshine whatever the weather".
Goodbye drinks took place on December 12 at the Black Lion, Walters Ash before Julian’s final round on the Saturday.
When asked what he planned to do next, Julian said he wasn’t sure yet but that he’s ready for a new chapter and that he has trips planned to the US, Malta and Holland in the New Year.
