Closing date has changed.
It has been brought to our attention that the distribution of the ‘CWU Consultative Ballot’ paper to Branches has been delayed. This is as a result of problems outside the control of the Union and Parcelforce have informed us that the difficulty has now been rectified.
As a consequence it has been agree to put the closing date of the ballot back to 12.00 midday Monday 31st March 2008.
If you have enquiries regarding the delay of ballot papers then please contact the Senior Deputy General Secretary’s department at CWU Headquarters for the attention of Peter Metcalfe.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Our Area Rep was in yesterday doing the speech and the vote anybody who was off or on leave will be sorted out next week but the vote so far has a massive backing so far to reject, also we were told that the managers have been balloted already and have voted 85% majority to reject Royal Mails raid on our pensions.

Surely any new recruit that joined the pension scheme during the so called
pension holiday, unless they were told otherwise, were mis sold their pension scheme
Similar to the endowment policies that were sold during the eighties.
RM knew the financial position they were in. Is there anyone who joined during that period,
who could clarify this for me.
apologies for my financial ignorance.

I hope you're right, maybe the union solicitors could answer that (or we could always go to those no win no fee legal companies)bexhil palace wrote:Surely any new recruit that joined the pension scheme during the so called

Yes nice to see our leadership keeping us all fully informed about this massive and irresistible campaign they have unleashed in defense of our pensions. Maybe it's a devastating new form of stealth campaign .k979aaa wrote:Since our union outlined it's time table for action against royalmail's outrageous proposal's!. Good of them to promote inter union solidarity as well by letting us all know about Thursdays picket lines manned by council workers, teachers, lecturers, coastguards, and Shelter employees.
Take 94% support ,sit on your hands for three months, maybe it will go away

Re: IT HAS BEEN THREE WEEK'S`:Scouse Billy Bunter
Hayes was a clown last year rejecting the offer from other unions to put on a united front over Public Sector Pensions , too concerned about running up blind alleys with his members and getting boxed into corners by Brown and RM.BELIAL wrote:Yes nice to see our leadership keeping us all fully informed about this massive and irresistible campaign they have unleashed in defense of our pensions. Still think he should have never been promoted that far , some Trade Unionists make excuses for him , but I'm not fully convinced by them.

Well I don't know why people are complaining - many on this forum said it was a done deal and all the tub thumbing in the world wasn't going to change it and it isn't - so much for Dave Ward and his political action - total bullsh*t - it's time they were shown the door. I think we should get a couple of orangutans to front the union - they would be cheaper, more effective, weigh less and be more acceptable to 90% of the membership.
