Hi all, I’m a bit confused and need advice.
I’ve been informed due to a recent audit in our office, I have to risk assessed, I’m surprised that after 20+ years in the business this has never happened before. I’ve had my disability since birth and RM are fully aware when I started.
Help!!!

Re: Risk assessment
In what regards to they feel necessary that you need to be risked assessed?
Is this a local management decision alone?
If you have a protective characteristic such as a disability, then they will be on dodgy ground as the very mention of it can be seen as discriminatory if your disability does not impact your work capability in a substantial way.

Re: Risk assessment
Update:
I’ve been told the assessment should have been done when I started!! So it’s 20 years on and now it should be done…
Something tells me, there’s more to this than they are saying.

Re: Risk assessment
They are talking garbage
Unless there has been a deterioration and your condition and getting progressively worse, this will be indirect discrimnination and contravention of your protected characteristics.
This so called risk assessment after 20 years cannot be objectively justified
In your shoes would consider a grievance against the manager who mentioned it
