Sez any settlement will be backdated to September. So if the first step of the agreement is paid breaks. Then they would backdate paid breaks for the whole of September and maybe October if it's dragged out?
I doubt it would extend beyond that.
Example: a new start has been here for 2 half years. The new agreement sets up a career path of 3 years to get the same pay as legacy staff. So those that have 2 years already get backdated pay to September aswell?

Wait 3 years for equal pay while doing the same job as coworkers? Ha! I won’t be hanging around for another 2 years and good luck retaining any new starts when they realise they have to wait that long while working through these s**t conditions.

It’s needs to be no more than 12 months or once a review has been passed.

I don't know what I find more infuriating:

a) RM having new contracts on inferior pay and conditions

Or

b) the way the CWU go quiet and hide when their promises of a pathway to equalisation don't materialise. Its insulting when they don't even bother keeping members updated.

Yep, with the weekly delivery supplement and the extra hourly rate legacy get, I'm doing the exact same job as my van share partner but for over £200 a month less pay, and yes I knew my pay before I started, but I did not know about the two tier workforce, it's just wrong in every way..

This was mostly why we went on strike. Any company that didn`t care whether kids got their presents at Christmas or not, can`t be negotiated with.

I started in 2021, and got to watch a video in which Terry Pullinger urged me to join the CWU and claimed they were working on getting it so new starts would be on the same as legacy within a year.

4 years later and we are still hearing the CWU are "working on it."

Yes I am, have been for a while, I apply daily, but my age is well against me now, but I'll keep trying.. Had enough of this mayhem every day.. Three people on new contracts who have been here a year or two left within a month of eachother, all found better well paid jobs, and with no Sundays, which is one of the main reasons why all three left so quick..

Even if they end up equalising pay they won't be changing the new contracts with regards to Sunday's, people signed contracts that I cluded working Sundays so will carrying on doing them, there should be enough with it in their contracts to spread them out evenly now

New contracts weren't introduced until around Oct 2022.
