More RM madness, we've already gone from just delivering Tracked and Specials and clearing the boxes/collecting customer collects on 2 duties if somebody is off with no cover, to doing Tracked, Specials and 20+ 1c's and the boxes/collections on the same 2 duties, to now having to also deliver an unknown number of DSA Premium mail on 2 duties.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑28 Sep 2025, 01:12There's a new DSA Premium product due to be introduced at some point, any DSA items using that product will be 1C (hopefully they're clearly marked as being that product. All other DSA is 2C, when it gets released is determined by which DSA product was used (2 day, 3 day or 5 day).mr hil. wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025, 19:50As far as I am aware anything that comes in your walk sequenced trays is due that day. This includes second class and DSA. The manual letters and flats should be coming in trays marked first or second class and be sorted into different IPS frames so that the second class can be left in the IPS frames if they aren't being delivered that day but should be delivered the next day
All mail in the RM2000 should be delivered each day, if any letters are not being delivered that are due then that is a failure and should be reported accordingly.

Re: Prioritising first class letters
Yeah before long might as well have done with it and deliver all the 2nd class, DSA, mailsort,go outdoors etc leaflets as well, things have a habit of going full circleTopperGas wrote: ↑28 Sep 2025, 18:43More RM madness, we've already gone from just delivering Tracked and Specials and clearing the boxes/collecting customer collects on 2 duties if somebody is off with no cover, to doing Tracked, Specials and 20+ 1c's and the boxes/collections on the same 2 duties, to now having to also deliver an unknown number of DSA Premium mail on 2 duties.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑28 Sep 2025, 01:12There's a new DSA Premium product due to be introduced at some point, any DSA items using that product will be 1C (hopefully they're clearly marked as being that product. Re: Prioritising first class letters
First class imho has always been a priority. Given the £1.70 cost of a normal 1st class stamp, there is surely the money/scope there for someone to cover just the first class mail across, say, 5 lapsed walks or whatever, leaving whoever is doing the tracked, CCs, boxes, specials, etc across those walks to concentrate on achieving just those things. Someone doing small bundles of 1st class mail across even 10 walks in our office might be achievable, and it would definitely be much more productive.
We are seeing massive increases in parcel numbers in our region more widely, but in my office some walks, especially the rurals and semi-rurals, have seen the numbers of tracked treble or even quadruple over the last year, especially on oversized stuff, so business is definitely good — which is, of course, good for us all too — and all kudos to the sales teams and whoever for growing the volumes of work, but with that massive growth in parcel volumes, customer-collects, parcel lockers, etc, etc, must surely come some recognition in the resourcing model that premium products (tracked being one premium product, 1st class being a distinct premium product) require premium service and, sometimes, separate resourcing.

If u have over 150 - 200 tracks plus specials/collections/boxes. It is impossible to do the 1st class mail in duty time

Re: Prioritising first class letters
As loops linger in the frame for multiple days, I'm starting to wonder if the new 2C QoS targets will be met (95% in 3 days). Rising Tracked volume is already eating into the time available to clear one side a day.
Service capacity that exists to deliver letters and packets is being utilised to deliver 2x Tracked and (effectively) no letters. That is, time that is allotted for the provision of the USO is being reallocated for the delivery of RM's profitable non-USO product stream. The 2021/22 revisions created duties with this deliberate oversubscription of the network in mind, which ought to annul the Commit to Deliver agreement.

The machine stops.

Definitely not here as 2c is lucky to go out once a week.Mr Rush wrote: ↑28 Sep 2025, 23:11As loops linger in the frame for multiple days, I'm starting to wonder if the new 2C QoS targets will be met (95% in 3 days). Re: Prioritising first class letters
It's hardly surprising as you suggest within the last week or so 1c seems to have become the new Tracked!postmanzach wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025, 08:00Anyone else been told to prioritise first class letters over tracked 48? Does that mean if you have a large Amazon type T48 box it now takes a back sit to a small 1c package?

That won't last long, the big senders of T48 will start kicking off about the T48 they send getting delayed.postmanzach wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025, 08:00Anyone else been told to prioritise first class letters over tracked 48? We have to prioritise first class but it’s been a recent change here. It’s made me realise just how few first class letters we handle now.

Re: Prioritising first class letters
If we ever had to run just 1C letters only on the CSS for wave 2, tbfq there'd be so few 1C letters that I wouldn't bother to run it, I'd just send it on as manual. I suspect that some wave 1 batches would be the same if they were just 1C only.

It also makes you realise just how much needless 2c "junk" mail we still deliver, probably nobody would miss if it wasn't delivered.

Re: Prioritising first class letters
Yes. In the last week we were told if we can’t complete it goes specials, tracked 24, first class mail, nhs letters. Then as much of anything else we can. But first class have to be done.TopperGas wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025, 08:22It's hardly surprising as you suggest within the last week or so 1c seems to have become the new Tracked!postmanzach wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025, 08:00Anyone else been told to prioritise first class letters over tracked 48? Re: Prioritising first class letters
I thought the extra 24hrs that it takes before a T48 arrives at the delivery office is accounted for traveling through the network so surely when it arrives at the do it has the same 'status' as a T24 ?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025, 08:50That won't last long, the big senders of T48 will start kicking off about the T48 they send getting delayed.postmanzach wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025, 08:00Anyone else been told to prioritise first class letters over tracked 48?
