I thought that everything into the office on that morning was due for delivery that day. It's all very well saying leave 2C but that mail is due that day, so when it sits there, it then becomes late. Business and people are paying for a service they aren't getting.
OFCOM have agreed that RM only have to deliver 2c mail on alternative days, the fact the ODM hasn't been introduced outside the pilot offices doesn't have to stop RM following the new agreement?
Although you can see in a few weeks it'll be "make sure you deliver the Specials, Tracked, 1c, NHS letters and 2c Xmas cards every day or otherwise risk being conducted"!!
Incidentally what happened to non 1pm Specials, have they been binned already as I have come across one for weeks?

Any Sunday special is by the end of day no timeframe, Also you might see a Sunday special on Monday if it fails to connect the previous day, it won’t have 1pm written on it. Any normal special that’s been previously attempted delivered by 1pm that’s on auto-re delivery or requested doesn’t have a timeframe either because the original before 1pm timeframe was adhered to on first attempt. The only reason the Sunday manager is telling you before 1pm so he can tick it off as either delivered or attempted on compliance report
As far as I am aware anything that comes in your walk sequenced trays is due that day. This includes second class and DSA. The manual letters and flats should be coming in trays marked first or second class and be sorted into different IPS frames so that the second class can be left in the IPS frames if they aren't being delivered that day but should be delivered the next day
All mail in the RM2000 should be delivered each day, if any letters are not being delivered that are due then that is a failure and should be reported accordingly.

Is it just me or is all this getting a bit silly, not too long ago when if something appeared in the delivery office it was due to be delivered, simple eh.

In theory that's the rules but if a DO's now running with no day off reserves or sickness cover it's sometimes impossible even in well run DO's.

There's a new DSA Premium product due to be introduced at some point, any DSA items using that product will be 1C (hopefully they're clearly marked as being that product. All other DSA is 2C, when it gets released is determined by which DSA product was used (2 day, 3 day or 5 day).

Last time a few years ago when I worked in our locker, the tracking system doesn't record if an item is a 1pm or a 9am. If it's still the same system then it probably doesn't record if an item is a Next Day item. Unless the system has been improved since then it'll just see any item not attempted by 1pm the next day as a failure, no matter what day of the week it is. The only possible way the system might be able to tell is by the two letters at the start of the tracking number, we used the STAR guns the last time I worked in our locker and if you scanned a 9am you'd get a different bleep.
The system clearly identifies non SG Saturday Specials don't need to be be delivered by 1pm, as the Doorstep app doesn't flag them as been delivered late.
