USO ODM extra trial

Post by buchanpeter »

Team talk yesterday.
2 offices in north east of Scotland getting pushed to start the USO change.
Area managers said they want to trial it themselves before being rolled out after Christmas.
I know the Banff office is one that's been chosen to trial throughout Christmas period.
Don't know which ODM method they're choosing but I'd say the old 3 posties 4 duties method.
Anyone from the Banff office like to shed some light on what's happening? :hmmmm

Given that those offices who were chosen as pilots are still being made to continue with the model despite it failing - I’d say the union will not be supporting any further trials ( which will just stay in place even if proven to fail )
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

I don’t really get it. We have a trial office local to us that’s supposedly burned through its entire yearly budget already trying to make it look like it works. And still been failing consistently.

He’s probably feeling in a bit silly after his live video announcement at end of July where he said there was a CWU utopian option to uso reform on the horizon where we all work 5 hour Saturdays and somehow savings
Would be made during the week whilst also reducing fatigue for us. Unfortunately he forgot to make sure Royal Mail were definitely on the same page with this, clearly they are not. He will re emerge after Christmas in the hope we have all forgotten when the original ODM Royal Mail plan is about to be rolled out to us all.

Don’t forget the video also about how the new starters definitely shouldn’t feel let down because everything was working exactly to the timescales in the part one/two agreement. ie First step within 3 months post transaction (which was 2nd June)….

We have a manager who must work the same hours as Martin Walsh.
6 weeks in the summer, every school holiday off and never works a Saturday. We call him the teacher

Naive of me to think he had the same holiday quota as the rest of the members, all for one and all that

I'm still waiting to hear how we'll all keep our own duties even though all our frames have now been marked blue or pink meaning that they'll only go out on alternative days, which suggests just 1 postie will now cover 2 duties when the changes are eventually introduced.
