RM kicked it off as far as I recall, they brought in the 2nd delivery attempt thereby denying smaller PO's the fee that they got paid for customers picking up their parcels, then doing collection on delivery charging less postage and denying the same PO's even more revenue. Reap what they sow.

Local supermarkets all over have lockers now.

Perhaps royal mail could have say a section of the building open to the public during the day when someone is there like the Dom support or the manager, they could pick up and drop off parcels without having to faff about with a locker.

The bigger picture here is Danny will be asset stripping the business, then dividing up RM and selling off the separate portions to the highest bidders.

I can't recall Local Collect numbers dropping post the 2nd delivery attempt that move just killed off the need for CSP's, but given the likes if Amazon do it it was hardly an unusual move.

I can't recall Local Collect numbers dropping post the 2nd delivery attempt that move just killed off the need for CSP's, but given the likes if Amazon do it it was hardly an unusual move.

Sorry, perhaps should have been more explicit - was referring to our SPDO's attached to PO's where posties used to bring back failed first deliveries rather than the Local Collect aspect. The PO staff I've spoken to when I've visited SPDO's say it made a huge, huge difference to their workload and revenue. As well as loss of revenue in the PO's from walk in trade when collecting a parcel and the revenue from dealing with the transaction, staff reductions were also made.
