At both depots I've been they've strongly recommended using anything but the designated SISO PDAs to sign in and out... But maybe this will change.
Why? It’s exactly the same
If they're anything like ours the SISO PDAs are forever on the verge of running out of power. If it transmits data in batches your scan might disappear into the aether.

A few bums twitching at ours with the prospect of having to scan out properly back at the office.

You might eventually have to use SISO machines like in MCs if the SISO PDAs are running out of power like that. Why aren't they being put back in the cradle whilst everyone is out on delivery?

The PDA cabinets must share a plug with the coffee machine, thus management never bother to charge them whilst everyone is out.
