Just wondering is anyone else starting to let the job get to them because of these parcels that are now through the roof all year round, getting over 100 tracks a day struggling to get half a frame out, is any other office getting parcels more than ever before or is it just my office that seems we are getting far to much, its a struggle to get many loops out these days, just a shambles all the time, feels like workers are at breaking point

My shared duty is getting close to 200 tracked daily. Often letters pile up for more than a week. I've been bringing back tracked.

Did your office ever have duties put back in after they made everyone's jobs much bigger 2-3 years ago, reducing your duty back down again?

It's the prioritising that makes it stressful, when the manager says you can leave loops in just make sure you do all your Specials, Tracked, first class and collections.

Then they expect you to do the double mail on another day with same problem but now you have more mail and d2ds.

It would be 100 times easier if you could just tie up your whole walk and work how you would normally work until finish time then bring back what ever you had left. Including tracked and first class.

Managers don't seem to want to manage the workload they want to put the pressure on the posties.

Yep seems a majority is in the same mess, I'm sick of the bloody tracked, two or three sacks full every morn and every item I pull out seems to be tracked, then there's the oversize that's ever increasing, mail gets left making it double or even treble when you get round to doing it, and they also expect you to throw in and take out two or three door to doors daily! Total shambles and totally disheartening!

we do all oversize,duty ,absortion, and bits of another failed walk because not enough staff, yeah ur looking at between 150-200 parcels a day, this job just isnt sustainable long term, its not right, more and more picking up injuries , u do wonder what on the earth the union are all about, its not a job anymore its slavery ,the union are doing absolutely nothing to derail this decline in working conditions, to be going into a chaotic workload everyday thats not a job, and its getting clearer now theres so many vacancies online for royal mail they cant recruit and if they do, they dont last

Not letting it get to me but they are indeed through the roof. The company need more people to cover them simple as.

We have only delivered specials, tracked & 1st class letters, collections & empty post boxes for the last 3 weeks, fortunately our rota crew are overtime maniacs, they stay out until gone 9pm & clear all the mail once a week

On average ours are 700 points per duty, 1300 odd on a shared van with a 5 hour delivery span from leaving office to back to office.

We are lucky to get out the door with 4 hours of delivery time.

Our duties probably average between 450 and 550 delivery points (not including those on 40 hour contracts)

The planners at my DO planned for a 5 hour delivery span. In reality most of them are about 6 hours minimum. On an average day we leave the majority of mail in the frame which is usually cleared on O/T on a Friday or Saturday.

No, we are all mostly 37 hours.
There is a difference between delivery span and what time you get out the office at.
It’s a bit like saying a 4 hour duty is too big because you aren’t leaving the office ‘in time’ to make the first letter time.
The leaving the office time is the problem, not the duty size in that instance.
Resources were put into indoors at ours (ie PT to FT) to enable 5 hour duties.
It looks like some office have gone from 3 hour to 4:30/5 hour spans but not have the resources put in.
