Hi JB1969,

I'm yet to accept the offer for the MGV role as it was advertised as a reserve but now only Nights. I'm coming from 20 years Bus and Coach, so this is completely new to me ( OK with Tacho ). What I need to consider is the nights role, and how long for, and the pay and allowance rates. I feel the overall package is better than bus, especially it's 4 nights rota and not 5. I think it's 38 hours (9.30 ) per duty.
Thanks for sharing the new base pay and night allowance. I just need to make a decision, and work out if I will be OK moving many heavy mail cages, and doing Nights. Lates would be my preffered hours.
Go for it mate, once you got your foot in the door, you can later change your shift pattern when a vacancy turns up.

Yup. It's an actual career as opposed to being stuck on deliveries, collections or processing at RM. At least you can leave if a better opportunity crops up! :thumbup

I have turned down the full time offer and now deeply regret it.... Recruitment have closed the advert and said I can't change my mind. I will have to look to see if the agency are recruiting for MGV and hope it's regular hours with Xmas coming up and short staffing at Wolverhampton, especially on nights. Any further help or advice would be really appreciated

Like people say, it depends who your prospective managers are and what the center is like where you work.

I came straight off post and was allowed to pick whether I wanted nights, days or latest.

Nights is supremely underrated, there's loads of folks with families who do them, pay's a bit more than days or lates and there's nobody about and even less to do.

I'm still regretting not taking the job offer. I just hope a new MGV role is advertised in the next 2 months whilst I'm on the waiting list. :cry

Do they put you through the cpc training or do you have to do it yourself?

Hi, Can anyone post the current shift allowances and times for MGV, and would these apply to someone offered a PT role ?. I'm hoping I would be allowed to work RD's to help with the hours and pay etc ?
