The search for a postman who went missing from a Huntingdonshire town earlier this month has entered its ninth week.

Darren Willis, 53, was reported missing from his home on Duck Lane, in St Neots, on June 9 and has still not been found.

Taking to social media on Monday (August 11), his wife Sarah said: "It's been the worst nine weeks but knowing where you are would change everything in a heartbeat.

"The kids are smiling through their pain because you taught me to be strong, I don't feel strong but looking at our children we both got something right.

"Please keep looking and if anyone has any idea of places we may not have thought of, drop me a message."

She added: "We are desperate to get him home again".

It comes after Cambridgeshire Police released a CCTV image of the last known sighting of the postie on June 25, as they say they "haven't given up hope of finding him".

A number of unconfirmed sightings have been reported, with a number of searches covering St Neots.

There were also two unconfirmed sightings in the Willington area of Bedfordshire, with officers speaking to locals and checking CCTV.

The last known sighting of Darren was from just before 7am on June 9, on a pathway connecting Willow Bridge and Shakespeare Road in St Neots.

A spokesperson for the force told The Hunts Post: "We have had several reported sightings since he has been missing, none of which have been recent.

"Teams react to intelligence as and when it comes in, conducting searches where there are opportunities.

"Searches have been in and around St Neots, and other areas where intelligence has directed the teams."

They added: "A dedicated officer remains on the case, and we'll update if the investigation progresses."

On June 12, members of the public assembled at Coneygeare Car Park to search for Mr Willis.

It was later announced that the search for the missing postman had extended to another county.

The search for the 53-year-old widened to Bedfordshire, according to officers searching for the father-of-three.

DI Emma Garwood, who is leading the searches, said: "Previous appeals have generated information from the public and we’re very grateful for the support we’ve received so far."

"We grow more concerned the longer Darren is missing but we haven’t given up hope of finding him alive.

"If anyone thinks they may have seen Darren from the CCTV image we’ve released, which we believe to be him, please get in touch.", DI Garwood said.

Mr Willis is described as 6’2”, medium build and is believed to be wearing dark navy jeans and a navy hoodie. He may also be wearing a baseball cap.

Anyone who has information concerning Mr Willis' whereabouts should call 101 quoting incident 83 of June 9.
