Time for a shorter working week

Currently in mail centres I hear the shift managers want everyone back on 5 night weeks until 8am at the latest and every late turner will do 5 days .

Sorry but this is absolutely horrendous for work life social balance . Also a nightmare getting weekends off on leave and on top of that you are not allowed to have a week or two off at Christmas . When does it end ? Personally the job won't be worth doing eventually. Pay getting less , overtime..well it's there at the moment and working conditions with managers on your shoulders . On top of unsociable hours .

It's time to take the business forward with rotation shifts whether people like it or not ! Something drastic needs to change ..most certainly in the mail centres!!

Get yourself a transfer over to delivery then?
Day shift every single day, plenty delivery OPGs lining up to take your 5 night shift too.

You seem very bitter towards processing indoor work . Sorry you knew what you signed up for by starting on deliveries so you you need to deal with it and fight against what's happening in your sector.
You wasn't complaining when you was getting home by 10 or 11 am most days making immense amounts of time . That could never carry on !! Mail centres work has always been unsociable! As for easy it depends. You want a manager on your back for full 8 hours a day ? Nope that's why you went deliveries! Oneday the siso will be used to monitor toilet breaks and speed etc so don't keep giving it on here about processing being this and that ! You had the amazing times..which could never carry on !!!! If you don't like deliveries get out the job fella . There's a million jobs out there . Many warehouse jobs and many where you can do order picking etc with weekends off . You need to accept deliveries is going down the road of late evening delivery whether you like it or not . So it's your job to stand up and fight for certain shifts ....not keep coming on here slating mail centre work ok fella

Mail centres work has always been unsociable! As for easy it depends.

You had the amazing times..which could never carry on !!!! If you don't like deliveries get out the job fella .

There's a million jobs out there .

Many warehouse jobs and many where you can do order picking etc with weekends off .

Why would a delivery worker want to go work in a warehouse? Surely with your experience, that would solve your problems

Stop your whinging !!
Im not complaining about the job itself ...but YOU are !! the shifts in processing in some offices was 3 or 4 nighters/dayers . Yet they are looking to minimise these and more 5 dayers . There was an agreement within government with the labour party of better working conditions ie sociable hours for family yet RM are limiting that . So the gripe from processing ends is the hours NOT THE JOB !!! yet all you are complaining about is the job on deliveries and begging for indoor work . Well you can see any spare jobs seem to be primed for casuals as they are needed only seasonal and less and on tap as and when .
I personally think you should consider your options if you're not happy with the JOB itself 'fella' . If you want indoor work... A warehouse is your best option in this current climate

Hahaha quite possibly. You'll see VRs offered before that , where virtually a whole shift within my office wants to go on the 1year VR payment agreement. So bring it on ;-)

What supernumerary staff? Some shifts are just about all casuals already. Also it has been said many times, RM won't want any legacy staff moving over to deliveries, they want them gone.
