Is the end for the Parcelforce brand?

Someone said EP are investing in Parcelforce to make it a more desirable purchase when they come to sell it, would there be any truth to this? Seems odd that it's gone from being a lost cause when Simon Thompson was around, to investing millions in it now?

I can just imagine them selling PF eventually, AFAIK they don't share any buildings with RM anywhere. In the very long term I can see RM being split up into two completely separate firms, one being letters and flats only, taking some DOs with it and the other being parcels taking the rest of the DOs with it.

When I first started on deliveries, people on foot would take out the letters and flats and the drivers delivered the packets and parcels.
Kretinsky would need to rationalise the vast amount of real estate he now owns by selling much of it off and building new facilities that are fit for purpose.

For the government to take on the letters side you'd still need to split the DO estate, some going over to government control and operation, the rest staying with RM

EC, WC and W1 are already delivering ParcelForce work. They’ve been doing it for over a year now. Only W1 has stopped due to the USO trial.

Are the PF items sorted at the local MC or are they passing through the MC on direct yorks that just get wheel straight from the artic to the 600 doing the run to the DO?

Wheeled off the artic, pre sorted into the relevant DO’s. Down to us to sort the 20 to 30 yorks ( per DO ) to the appropriate walks.. roughly around 3000 items for all offices in total.

The more undesirable it gets the cheaper it gets to renationalise. It's just a question of how soon we'll get to the point the government is buying RML off EP Group for the symbolic price of £1.

Letters and Flats are being replaced by Parcels, in my Mail Centre letter machines have been removed and that work has been replaced with parcels.
