Royal Mail Wage and inflation.

So between 2022 and Now inflation has risen around 22%. Of which Royal Mails rate of pay increased around 12% in that time (someone please correct me if Im wrong there.

So that's effectively a 10% pay cut since 2022. Im not even mentioning what has gone on beforehand.

Longer harder rounds, much more stress and losses in our rights and all the union can muster is a 8.2%-10.2% wage rise over the next 3 years which will probably be around inflation.

Yes yes I know we was never going to get it but a fair figure drawing a line in the sand and forgetting all the crap we have had to put up with over the last 15 years or so, I would think a figure around 13%-15% over 3 years would have been fair. That's what they are proposing but also getting back half (5%) of what we have essentially lost. If I was to go back 15 years, compared to inflation the figure we have lost would be more like 15%+.

It's a disgrace what they have offered but im not surprised.. wheres the leveling up? Paid breaks? D2d , delivery supp call it what u like? All designed in a way for you to say yes,vote now everyone and it still won't change anything.. let's put it up to 4.4 %..

Your right, doesn't seem a sliver of equalisation for new entrants! It's a very bad deal for those.

I'm really feeling the increase in prices and noticing my wages don't stretch as far. And comparing how much work I do now compared to when I started 20 years it's night and day. Doing alot more for effectively less money. I was really hoping the union would get us a decent pay rise. But unfortunately not this time.

They must be as our 5 new starts from before Xmas include 2 ex Amazon and 1 ex Evri driver!

Kretinsky at least seems conscious of the fact that parcel delivery companies are not our competition, as our reach and infrastructure is vastly superior. Whether he'll utilise that is another thing entirely, but before the takeover he said he was interested in RM as they have the best "end of line" delivery structure.

Spot on and if it is anything like last time the Union will put out a ton of propaganda selling us a bad deal.

Yes so new hourly rate for non new starter will be £14.22

If you add in the allowance it's like £14.40 for non new starters, obviously not adding in overtime.
