Usually company propaganda would be in overdrive spinning them as rousing successes out the gate. Things are awfully restrained considering the ball is already rolling on the first wave of deployments for the ODM.

Perhaps it's a clever game of brinkmanship by DW, as we all know there's no way we're going to be told the truth about the state of play in the trial offices?

Saturdays are usually hectic, not just with Saturday work (everyone else’s long weekend, meaning lots of duties uncovered!) but also getting set up and ready for Sunday. I invariably go over quite a bit on a Saturday afternoon, which instead of claiming OT for I just recoup as TOIL on a Sunday. By being flexible, I get flexibility back — win/win!

I'm not sure many posties like the thought of working every weekend. Do you get many Saturdays/Sundays off smooth??

real data will be covered up by overtime, assistance, people starting shift before start time, people not taking breaks, people not doing the job properly.

Stockton has had 28 duties put back in.... Interesting to know how they came up with that figure. Seems huge amounts. How many duties were there before. Common theme seems to be in bigger offices nights being put back in. Everything goes in cycles at RM if we wait long enough 48 boxes and 2nd deliveries and bikes will all be back.

Not many/any, Pete, unless I happen to be on leave or I swap it for a special occasion— but that is purely my choice. Like the other new entrants at my place, I have been given have the option of having rolling days off, with a three-day weekend every so often (every six weeks, I think?), but I don’t like the way that there are six working days between days off (it rolls forward so rest day one week will be Mon-Tues, then next week Tues-Weds etc), so after a short spell on the new rota (just a fortnight) me and a couple of others asked to go back on our fixed days off, ie, working every Sat and Sunday. Little perks like the one I’ve alluded to (banking time on Saturday and then using it as TOIL on Sunday) make it worthwhile. It also suits management to have a permanent Sunday crew.

The only way it will work is if you take around 40-50 minutes off a duty that is currently around 4.5hrs long. With the extra mail you will get every day then you would lose at least 40 minutes out of your day going to an extra 20% of addresses.

Currently, you imagine you have a day off and no one is available to cover you so you come back into double mail, you would naturally leave a row to half a walk to get done.
